Chapter 400: A Deal?

Chapter 400: A Deal?

Thalia smiled against his shoulder, pulling back to look at his face.

"How are things inside the royal mansion?" Loui asked.

Thalia shook her head. "Everywhere is in utter chaos. There are rumors that his majesty wants to kill the third prince." She was Loui’s half-sister from another mother.

Loui ran his fingers through his hair.

"Are you going to be safe?"

Thalia shook her head. "I-I don’t think so. Everyone is afraid. We might get killed too, after all, we are his wife’s maids."

"Right..." Loui took a deep breath, rubbing his temple in deep stress. He grabbed her shoulder and looked into his eyes. "Listen, go back into the mansion and just stay safe okay? Leave everything to me, I’ll figure something out and a way to make sure you are kept safe, okay?"

"Just trust me, okay?" He begged.

Although Thalia couldn’t tell exactly what it was that he was planning, she nodded and turned around, hurrying back into the mansion.

Loui stared at her disappearing back and as soon as she was out of sight, a soft breath fled his nose and he shoved his hands into his pocket.

He has been keeping Thalia since they were little. He’d even joined Draven for her sake because he always wanted to be sure she was safe. Draven surely might even kill him for keeping such a secret from him for so long. Not even Olive and the others knew that Thalia was his half-sister.

Just as he has always kept it a secret, he will keep it and take it to his grave. However, this time around, he might be doing something he will regret. But that’s fine. It’s for his sister, he doesn’t mind being a bad guy. She’s the only family he has left anyway and he did promise his father to keep her safe.

A soft breath fled Loui’s nose and walked off, proceeding to begin what he had in mind.

——

Ryan paced back and forth in his room. He was pondering, thinking really hard about how exactly he could be of great help to his father.

it was finally the moment he’d been waiting for—the moment Draven would finally die before his eyes. Although he was annoyed by the fact that the crown didn’t choose, it was quite alright. Now, they can finally kill him.

He chuckled softly. Perhaps he can get rid of Lumian as well after all, the crown chose him above him. So if it wasn’t Draven, the next heir would be Lumian.

His face scrunched heavily in anger. The throne was his, it belonged to him. He. Was the first son after all.

A knock suddenly came at the door.

"Young master, it’s Doris." His new butler’s announced from outside.

Ryan glanced at the door and permitted, "Come in."

Doris walked in and respectfully bowed to him. "Young master, there is someone that seeks an urgent and important audience with you."

"Who?" Ryan questioned.

Doris shook his head. "I’ve never seen him before, but he wants to have a word with you. An important one."

Ryan furrowed his brows. Who was this unknown figure that was seeking an audience with him? What does he even want to discuss?

He gave a nod and left his room to meet with the supposed visitor outside the gate of the royal mansion.

The royal guards opened the gate and Ryan stepped out. He looked from his left to his right and his eyes halted on a figure, dressed nobly in fine expensive attire. This figure was shockingly Loui, his hand tucked into his pants and a smile on his face.

Perhaps he’d been allowed to even seek an audience with the first prince because he looked like a high-class nobility.

"Who...are you?" Ryan questioned, utterly perplexed. He has never seen Loui before, not even once in his whole life.

"Bonjour, your highness," Loui greeted, bowing.

"Bonjour." Ryan was obviously suspicious of him. "Who are you? And why did you seek an audience with me?"

"Do you think we can speak somewhere...more private?" Loui inquired. "My reason is important, something that will utterly please you."

Ryan wasn’t going to agree, but something in him was telling him to trust his instincts and hear the blonde young man out. He took a deep breath, turning around.

"Follow me." He began to walk into the royal mansion.

Loui glanced from his left to his right to make sure he wasn’t followed and proceeded into the royal mansion behind Ryan.

They made their way to a secluded quarter in the mansion and Ryan opened one of the rooms, walking in to sit down at the one-man sofa.

Loui took a sit opposite him.

"So what is it? Be fast with it," Ryan said.

Loui half smiled and touched his hand to his chest. "My name of Loui, one of the third prince’s men," he introduced himself.

Ryan’s eyes immediately widened and he was about to ask, but feeling no killing intent coming from Loui, he wrinkled his face.

"Why are you here to see me? Did my little brother send you?" He questioned, chuckling in between his words.

Loui shook his head at him. "No third prince didn’t send me. But I’m here on my own accord to make a pleasing deal with you. One that I’m sure you would love."

"A deal?" Ryan was mirth.

"Indeed." Loui gave a nod, utterly serious.

Ryan smiled to himself, crossing his legs. "Alright. Go ahead and tell me what this deal is."

"If I’m pleased enough with it, perhaps you might just walk out here alive. If not, you will die right where you are seated."

Loui smiled at him. "It’s alright. I was well aware of all these before I came to seek you."

"I know that things are not going very well here in the mansion and it is only a matter of a few days and the third prince will be killed. But you see, I have a sister who is a maid in this mansion and she works for the third prince’s wife."
