Chapter 392: Do I?
Chapter 392: Do I?
Olive continued, "It is partially my fault anyway, after all, I offered my blood even though you were hesitant, so shut it."
Valentine breathed heavily, his eyes fixed on the marble floor. The bubbles of tears falling from his eyes dripped onto the floor.
Olive who was staring at him pinched between his brows. "Did I really stab you with my words that badly? Why are you crying so much? You were never a crybaby’s Valentine. Has being so close to death gotten a grip on your emotions?"
"Your mouth is a horrible container of words," Valentine mumbled in between tears, his hands balling into tight fists. He frowned, raising his head too galore at him. "You do realize that keeping me alive means my emotions will continue to mess with yours until that long. You can’t really tolerate that, can you? You are not that type of person, Olive."
"Meaning?" Olive tilted his head, nettled. "Are you saying that I can’t deal with your stupid horrible emotions?"
"Precisely, yes." Valentine nodded.
Olive’s left eye twitched furiously and he moved closer to him, barely holding himself back from punching his face. "You idiot! I’m sure that if I can’t, you won’t always run to me each time you have a dispute with your father. Look at you ta—"
"Do you forgive me?" Valentine asked, interrupting him.
Olive waved his hand at him. "Whatever, you’ll have to make it up to me, either way. There is no use being angry anyway. A feral animal like you cannot be controlled even if I tried."
"I’m not an animal..." Valentine lowered his head, his soul shutting down in a heavy feeling of sadness.
"If only you saw yourself earlier. There was no difference." Olive scoffed, amused. "Were you always this emotional?" He asked, frowning in surprise. "You really don’t have any ounce of control over them! That really sucks! You and Don are utterly opposites." He clicked his tongue, shaking his head in annoyance. "He might just kill me if he finds out about this."
Valentine was a bit taken aback. "Huh? Why?"
"Nothing." Olive groaned, cupping his chin to wipe off the tears in his eyes. "Stop being such a crybaby now. It’s six p.m. now and you should be back at the royal mansion. The ceremony should be starting, no?"
"Mhm, it should." Valentine nodded.
Olive grabbed his hand, pulling him off the floor and out of the bathroom. They changed into new sets of clean clothing and left the house towards his power bike.
"You’re going to have to hold on really tight. I won’t be riding slow," Olive warned as he helped him wear a helmet.
Valentine gave a nod, very aware. "Don’t go too fast though. I might puke, really."
"Brat!" Olive turned on the bike, sat down, and had him climb up. He powered it up, rode off onto the road, and sped off towards the royal mansion.
——
Avelina stood in front of Draven, buttoning up his white silky attire, almost like a suit. She stepped back a bit, examining him from head to toe, and widely smiled.
"Perfect!" She gave him a thumbs up.
Draven softly laughed and moved closer to him. He pulled her into his arms, hugging him tightly. "You look very beautiful, Sunshine."
"Do I?" Avelina asked, stepping back to twirl in front of him. Her attire was a simple soft floor-length pink dress that complimented her perfectly. Its arms were long and wavy so that when she twirled, it whirled along with the dress. Her hair of course was let down in pretty curly waves, perfectly decorated with golden glistening pins.
Draven gave a thumbs up, a genuine broad smile apparent on his face.
"You are just as beautiful as the lily of the valley, I told you."
He watched as Avelina’s face completely flushed red at the compliment. He stepped forward and ruffled her hair, amused.
"You’re still as adorable as ever."
Avelina stared into his eyes and her smile slowly faded. Draven was confused by the sudden change in her mood, so he asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Draven..." Avelina inhaled a sharp cynical breath. "Do you think we will be alright?"
"Huh?" Draven was a bit taken aback. "Why not?"
Avelina walked over to sit down on the bed. "Recently, I have been constantly having this bad, horrible feeling. It’s the type you get when you feel like something terrible is going to happen...especially when it’s to you or perhaps to those dear to you."
Draven walked over and sat down beside her.
"We’ll be fine, Avelina. Nothing will happen and everything will be just fine. I’m here with you and I promised you, I’ll keep you safe. I won’t let anyone hurt you, okay?"
"But, Draven, I’ve been having these bloody, horrible dreams and they always felt so—"
"No." Draven shook his head at her, cupping her cheeks with his large palms. He pressed their foreheads together and smiled lovingly at her. "Don’t think about bad things. They are not good for you. Everything will be alright, I promise." He lifted her chin, pressing his lips against her.
He kissed her ever so gently, one without need or passion, but just to calm her down. "Everything will be fine. Trust me." He caressed her hair and stood up from the bed, extending his hand. "Come here."
Avelina looked up at him, before grabbing onto his hand. They left the room, making their way to the royal hall where the ceremony was taking place.
...
Each and every one of them was settled in their respective seats. The royalties as well were seated all according to their ranking and as usual, Ryan and Lilith sat next to Old Master Lenort, and on his left side, sat the new wife in which Ryan had taken in.
He’d indeed listened to his father and taken in a new wife even though that was not what he wanted.
The entire hall was filled with six many guests, including Loui, Olive, Lucien, Ava, Pierre, and Prince who were in the cloud. They were watching but were also there in case of any casualties.
