Chapter 36: What The Hell Are You Doing?!
At the top of the building across the hall where the incident had happened earlier, Olive stood with a lit cigarette in between his fingers. A thin tendril of smoke curled upward from his hand, illuminated by the flickering flame of his cigarette.
A bit far behind him, bathed in the silver glow of the half-moon, a slender male shadow silently prowled.
His lithe frame was draped in a tailored black suit, clinging to him like a second skin. Pale and flawless, his skin seemed to shimmer in the darkness, almost translucent.
From his concealed vantage point, hidden within the dark recesses on top of the building, the silhouette’s eyes focused on Olive.
Olive, on the other hand, took a deep breath.
"Don’t you think it’s time you stop watching me?" he asked.
The unknown silhouette’s lips curled into a barely perceptible smile. With his hands tucked into the pocket of his pants, he moved at the speed of light, arriving behind Olive in the blink of an eye.
From beside Olive’s head, he blew on the cigarette in Olive’s hand and took it.
"I don’t like people that smoke," his pacific voice sounded.
Olive’s forehead wrinkled, and the side of his lips twitched. He was annoyed by this sudden intruder.
He turned around, and at the sight of the intruder, his expression darkened.
This intruder was none other than Valentine!
Olive blinked and immediately frowned.
"Give the cigarette back!" He was very sure that this kid was his boss’s younger brother. But what was he doing at the top of this building, watching him from the shadows?
Valentine smirked and shook his head. "Nope!"
He threw the cigarette to the floor, and under Olive’s heavy gaze, he stomped on it, crushing it into pieces.
"I don’t like the smell of smoke."
Olive’s eyes dilated, and in a single movement, he had Valentine’s neck in the palm of his hand. He lifted him into midair and glared at him with anger burning in his eyes.
"Listen, kid! I hate intruders like you! They get on my nerves. Smoking or not, it’s none of your damn business! The next time you take such an action, you will be dead before you even know it!" he deeply scowled in pure rage.
But Valentine, who couldn’t care less, smirked at him.
"You’re so hot-tempered." He cackled and forced himself out of Olive’s grip.
He fell to the floor and straightened up, revealing the reddish mark on his pale skin as a result of Olive’s tight grip on his neck.
He began to rub his sore neck, his expression serious. "First of all, I am not a kid! Don’t ever call me that again!"
Olive stared at him, the urge to kill him overwhelming him. He was only holding back because this was the younger brother of his boss.
"I will call you whatever I please. And yes, you look like a kid!" he scoffed.
No longer willing to bother with Valentine, he turned around to jump off the building, but before he could, Valentine arrived before him in the blink of an eye.
"You—"
Valentine grabbed his collar and pushed him back onto the floor. He loomed above him, leaving Olive to meet his gaze.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing?" Olive questioned.
"It was you, right?" Valentine asked, ignoring his hair that cascaded down onto Olive.
Olive deeply frowned, confused. "What are you talking about?"
"Earlier during the duel, it was you, right?" Valentine raised his brow. "The one who used his ability on Natasha."
Olive’s eyes narrowed vehemently, and he immediately composed himself to stay calm.
"I don’t know what bullshit you are spouting. Now, get the hell off me!" He flipped Valentine over and stood up to his feet.
He spread his wings, ready to leave, but before he did, Valentine said, "I will not tell my father, but the next time we meet... I would like us to make a deal."
Olive halted midair and turned his head to glance at him.
Valentine grinned, revealing his gleaming fangs, sharp and deadly.
"Bye-bye." He chuckled and stood up to his feet.
He spread his wings and disappeared out of sight, leaving Olive, who was levitating in midair, puzzled.

[Meanwhile, At The Royal Mansion]
Santino rushed Draven into his quarter, his eyes scanning their surroundings. Behind them, Avelina followed anxiously, hurrying at an exhausting pace to catch up to them.
They were moving at an inhumane speed, and she, a mere human, was finding it tiring to run after them and catch up.
"Open the door," Santino said to her.
Avelina approached the door, calming her racing heart.
She opened it and followed in after Santino walked Draven inside.
Santino took Draven to the bed and laid him down. He then exited the room to find someone who would be able to examine his wound and determine what the problem was.
It didn’t take him more than a few minutes before he returned to the room with a helpless expression. There was no one in the royal mansion who could help.
Avelina, on the other hand, was confused. She could not understand why they had no doctors.
She looked at Santino. "Um...sir, why is there no doctor in the royal mansion?"
Santino diverted his attention to her and slightly bowed in courtesy.
"My lady, this is because the royal family finds no need for a doctor."
"Huh?" Avelina was thoroughly perplexed.
"The royal family is of royal blood, and therefore they heal immediately after they get wounded—so long as it’s not with objects that can harm any vampire regardless of status. They are unlike us commoners, who take at least a week or more to heal," Santino explained.
"Oh..." Avelina flickered her eyes. "But even so, shouldn’t they have a doctor for you workers?"
"No, my lady." Santino shook his head. "We are simply mere workers. Our best interests do not matter to the king," he clarified.
Avelina asked, "So... how will you get a doctor now? We are not going to let him die, are we?"
"Not at all, my lady. I will be making my way out now to find a doctor. It will take only a few minutes," Santino responded.
"Wouldn’t he lose too much blood by then? What if he dies?" Avelina deeply frowned.
