Chapter 283: Would He Let It Happen?

Avelina let go of the duvet and quickly stood up, stepping back away from the bed. How could she have such thoughts? They were sinful, or so she wanted to make herself believe.

But sinful wasn’t what she felt. It was rather the opposite. There was not a possibility that anything with that man could be called sinful. It would be heavenly, wouldn’t it?

She was immediately snapped out of her drifting thoughts when the sound of the running water became even louder. She whipped her head, glancing at the door of the bathroom.

Avelina moved towards the door, grabbing the handle and opening it. Of course, this wasn’t what she wanted to do, but her body was moving on its own accord. It was unwilling to listen to her, as though she had lost absolute control of it.

But she’d barely stepped further into the bathroom before she came to a sudden stop, her long lashes slowly blinking.

There, Draven stood with his bare back to her under the running water of the shower head, washing. It seemed

The sight of this man, half naked and wet, was something she was not at all prepared for. This was not the first time she had seen him half naked, considering he’d often go to bed wearing nothing but his trousers, but this time, it was different. It was...sensual in a sense she couldn’t even bring herself to explain.

Avelina knew what she needed to do—to step back and leave the bathroom just like he asked her to. But her eyes were glued to this man, her feet to the floor, and her body was at a total standstill. They were heavily determined to stay!

Just standing there alone under that running shower, completely drenched with his wet hair latched onto his broad shoulder, this man was beautiful to adore.

She watched his back muscles flex and his biceps budge as he ran his fingers through his hair. Her eyes followed the line of water that streamed down his dark hair to touch the inches of his lower back.

Her heart pounded loudly within her.

Avelina knew she ought to step back and leave at once, but she had no desire to—or, more likely, her body was not willing. To walk into this bathroom and see him half naked and bathing was unforgivable, especially when he’d asked her to wait outside for him.

But what could she do? Her body yearned for this man—so much so that she felt embarrassed by it.

Avelina couldn’t think why. No man had ever made her feel this way. None at all. Not even the one she once liked in her early twenties.

This man was a sight to behold after all. She was subconsciously memorizing every inch of him, and in that process, her tempted eyes couldn’t help but fall lower to where his back narrowed into a lean waist—the rest of him clothed in his damped trousers.

She didn’t even have the time to think of why he was under the running shower in his trousers because she had the overwhelming urge to touch him—to feel him up and thorough.

So many unholy thoughts and images prodded her mind, and she knew right there and at that moment that she had to leave—that is if he hadn’t noticed her already.

"You didn’t wait outside, why?" Draven turned off the shower. She’d been caught.

Avelina frantically batted her lashes and furiously began to wave her hands apologetically. "I didn’t mean to come in." Her belly twisted as she realized that this man had actually known she was there all along.

Urgh! Her scent alone was enough for him to tell, even if he couldn’t hear her opening the door due to the running water.

He’d intentionally allowed her to have her fill, to satisfy her eyes, and to feel things. He’d abetted her curiosity the whole time!

"You...knew I was in here all along..."

Draven brushed his wet back into a sleek with the use of his long fingers. He began to stride towards her, his hips slightly swaying from left to right. He stood before her very closely and lowered his head right beside her right ear.

"I did ask you to wait outside for me, Avelina, did I not?" His voice! It was low, exotic, and sensual—the sort of voice a man used when he wanted to arouse a woman.

The eyes with which he looked at her were not usual. It was different, almost as if he was aroused. By her? Could she be wrong? Or was she still lost in her imagination?

Draven’s next question had her heart skipping an immediate beat. "Why did you come back in, Avelina?"

Avelina looked into his orbs. Her hazel pearls spoke hundreds of words to him.

To see you, to touch you, and to be touched by you. To make you go to that bed with me and have you undo me in different ways as you please. To let you teach me, lead me, and make me learn things beyond what I could imagine.

Her eyes held his, and this time around, she could not look away. What would happen if she said those words to him? Would he let it happen? Or perhaps back off like he did last night. Would he let her know he didn’t desire her?

These thoughts suddenly caused her to be devastated. Yet again, she had to remind herself that he didn’t want her. She was the only one who wanted him; it was not mutual.

Draven’s voice rang in her ears. "I’d like to change Avelina. I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to stay and watch. You enjoy it, it seem—"

"No!" Avelina interrupted him, her chest rising and falling in heavy breathing. "I’ll go! I’ll go!" She quickly turned around and rushed out of the bathroom, slamming the door shut.

She pressed her back against the door, very aware that her face was completely red. She tried to calm her racing heartbeat, but unable to do so any longer, she quickly slipped her feet into her slippers and rushed out of the room, clad in nothing but a knee-length white dress with a light pink flower design. The sleeves were thin and dropped off her shoulder.
