Chapter 267: You Look...Perfect!

Luckily for her, Draven, who was done with his phone call, pushed open the door and walked into the room. He shut the door behind him and lifted his eyes, only for his gaze to fall on Avelina, who was staring at him with a dropped neck.

He could immediately tell that something was wrong, so he asked, "Is there a problem?"

Avelina turned around, showing her back to him. "This is the problem. I can’t reach it." The corset was very loose, thus completely leaving her upper back in view.

Draven flickered his eyes and quickly averted his gaze. "W-what do you want me to do? Should I c-call your maids for—"

"No!" Avelsin interrupted him. "Help me do it."

"Me?" Draven asked.

"Mhm." Avelina nodded.

"It is useless to call them just for this."

Draven hesitantly took a step toward her. He grabbed the thread of the corset and carefully began to intertwine them in their buttonholes. While he did that, Avelina, who was quiet, could feel his fingers grazing her skin.

She could not overlook it because each time it happened, she could feel her body shiver. But as composed as she was, Draven took no notice of it.

He pulled both sides of the thread, yanking the corset to magnetize to each other. "Is this enough? Should I pull more?"

Avelina furiously shook her head. "No, no, this is enough. If you pulled any further than this, I just might not be able to breathe, just like earlier."

"Earlier?" Draven glanced at her with confusion.

"Mhm." Avelina nodded. "The royal seamstress called me over to try on the dress that your father has unfortunately made for me. They used the measurement from back then, and I couldn’t fit into it." She chuckled. "I couldn’t breathe at all, and I thought I was going to collapse if she pulled anymore to make it fit."

Draven blinked his eyes.

"That was quite useless. I wouldn’t let you wear that, I told you."

Avelina smiled, amused. "I know. I wouldn’t wear it either. Urgh! It was a matching outfit and it wasn’t even that pretty!" Her face held a look of disgust.

Draven could not help but chortle at the face she was making. He patted her head and asked for the jewelry.

Avelina picked up the box to give him, but the sudden ring of his phone had him looking away.

"Avelina, give me a moment, okay?" Draven glanced at her and exited the room.

Avelina dropped the box on the sofa. She walked over to the table and sat down. She grabbed the brush and began to brush her hair. In a fine style, she styled it, letting it fall and bounce perfectly right at her waistline.

She stood up and gazed at herself in the mirror. She was gorgeous—she knew it. A soft smile spread across her lips, and she turned around the second she heard the door creak open.

Draven walked in, shutting the door. He shoved his phone into the pocket of his coat and raised his head, only for his red orbs to come to a sudden stop on Avelina.

Admired was the word, yes! This man was in a sudden trance, his eyes unable to flicker away from Avelina for even a moment. Her beauty was like liquor and he was completely drunk on it.

Suddenly, it felt like he was meeting her for the first time all over again. Was it just his eyes—he could not tell, but she was breathtaking. She was gorgeous, he could not even find himself comparing her to any woman he had ever met.

Her beauty was gentle—lovely for the eyes to behold. The word beautiful, he could confidently say, did her no justice. She was much more than that!

Draven subconsciously said, almost whispering, "You...are breathtaking." His voice was deep and sultry, with a tinge of huskiness.

Avelina fluttered her lengthy lashes. She nervously gripped the hem of her dress and lowered her head, unable to look him in the eyes. The compliments she got from this man were something she had never received from anyone before and she cannot help but want to hide away each time.

She could feel her heart beating rapidly in her chest. He had never looked at her with such warm, lost eyes before.

Draven approached her. He grabbed the box on the sofa and walked over to stand behind her.

He preferred the necklace with the sunshine pendant—he believed it fit her the most, so he wore her the necklace and clasped its lock. He turned Avelina around and took a few steps back to scrutinize her completely.

"You look...perfect!" He smiled, his eyes glistening, completely adoring her.

Yes, he had specifically picked out the color red. It was perfect for her, and it was the only color that effortlessly suited her.

Avelina bit her lower lip and began to fidget with her fingers.

Draven frowned at this. He took a step toward her and grabbed her chin, tilting her head up to have her look into his eyes.

"Avelina, when you wear a pretty dress such as this, wear it with confidence!" he said to her. "In my eyes, you and only you are the prettiest, so even if not for anyone or any reason, do it for me, mhm?"

Avelina’s heart skipped a beat. She blinked and swallowed hard before slowly nodding her head. "O..okay..."

Draven smiled and pulled her head closer to give her a gentle peck on the cheek.

By the time Avelina was ready, she was left in light makeup, just perfect for her. She looked at Draven, who urged her to go out and meet with Santino.

"Will you come quickly?" she asked, clearly hinting at her displeasure. She did not want to go without him.

Draven smiled, nodding his head. "I will be there, so just go, okay? Do not worry, I’ll be fine," he assured her.

Although reluctant, Avelina grabbed hold of her dress and left the room. By the side, Santino was waiting for her.

"My lady, may I?" Santino extended his hand out for her.

Avelina proffered a charming smile. "Thank you." She took his hand.

Santino carefully walked her to the car. He opened the door, gesturing her in. With his help, Avelina got in the passenger seat and sat down.
