Chapter 265: Do You Want To Kill Me?!

Draven was out, thus leaving Avelina seated in the room all alone. She was enjoying her reading as always, with a bit of a witty smile on her face.

A sudden knock came at the door.

"My lady, it is I, Thalia."

Avelina raised her pupils. She frowned and glanced at the door, wondering why Thalia would be at her door at such a late hour in the evening. It was currently five p.m. in the evening.

"What is it?" she asked.

Thalia responded, her voice loud enough, "Well, I must let you know about something quite important, my lady!"

Important? Avelina wrinkled her brows. She closed the book and stood up from the sofa. She strolled to the door and turned the knob, opening the door.

She proffered a light smile. "What’s the problem?"

Thalia glanced at her and quickly dipped in a polite curtsy.

"Good evening, my lady. Um, I am here to get you to the dressing room."

"Dressing...room?" Avelina appeared confused. "Do you mind being a bit more specific? I am lost."

Thalia awkwardly smiled. "Well, his majesty has sent the royal tailor. She has the dress made for each of you—every daughter-in-law. So you are needed to see if the dress fits perfectly."

"May I ask how they have my measurement?" Avelina questioned.

Thalia replied, "I am not sure, but I believe it was taken when your wedding dress was made for you two months ago."

"Oh..." Avelina nodded in recollection.

She looked at Thalia, sighing. "Well. I don’t think that would be necessary. I don’t exactly need a dress or some—"

"My lady, please, you have to come," Thalia interrupted.

"And why is that?" Avelina asked.

Thalia fidgeted with her fingers and took a deep breath to explain.

"My lady, Camilla, and I would be in trouble. We are your maids. Not just us, but you too. A lot was paid for those dresses, and the other ladies are already in the dressing room."

"Please just come with me," she implored.

Avelina deeply sighed. She stepped out of the room and shut the door behind her. By the side, she cannot see Santino. He had left earlier with Draven, as it seemed that Draven had something important to do.

Behind Thalia, Avelina followed. They walked through the general foyer and approached one of the vast rooms, almost like a hall in the mansion. As they advanced toward the door, she could hear voices—one of which belonged to Natasha.

Talks after talks, followed by a bit of giggling and laughter

Thalia turned the knob and opened the door. She stepped in, and Avelina followed in.

At the sight of her, everyone fell silent.

Natasha gazed at her from head to toe before rolling her eyes. "What is she doing here?"

Aurora replied sarcastically, "To help you fit into that fucking dress of yours."

Natasha immediately glared at her.

"You! Do you have some kind of problem with me? Why do you get so worked up every time I talk to that bitch?" she questioned.

Aurora raised her brow at her and shook her head, contempt flashing in her eyes.

"Aurora, answer me!" Natasha tried to take a step toward her, but Lilianna stopped her.

"Natasha, please calm down," Lilianna said.

Natasha glanced at her and scoffed.

Avelina, who stood by the side, shook her head, amused.

"My lady?" The tailor, who had a fine set of specialized glasses resting on the bridge of her nose, spoke. She was a gorgeous middle-aged brunette clad in a fine, long set of skirts and blouses that showed off her curves. Her sandy-colored eyes complimented her gentle smile.

Avelina blinked, able to tell immediately that she was the seamstress. "Hello..."

The seamstress chuckled. "You can call me Lara, my lady." She bobbed in curtsy.

"Urgh! Why are you being polite? She is freaking human!" Natasha scowled.

Mrs. Lara glanced at her, but she paid no heed to her word. With her smile emerging once again, she walked up to Avelina and gently grabbed her hands.

"Oh, I have wanted to meet you, my lady, since I last made your wedding dress. You are beautiful like they said!" she complimented.

Avelina frantically darted her eyes around, perplexed. Beautiful, like they said? Who said that?

"Please spread your arms for me, my lady." Mrs. Lara grabbed her hands in an attempt to put them aside.

Avelina reluctantly spread her arms, staring at her and wondering what she was doing. Why was she measuring her again? Hasn’t the dress been made already?

Mrs. Lara glimpsed the chair a bit away from her. She hurried towards it and grabbed a lovely blue dress that was similar to the one Natasha, Lilianna, and Aurora wore.

Avelina could not help but frown. It can’t be that they are all going to wear matching dresses, right?

"Take her dress off, please," Mrs. Lara ordered.

Thalia nodded and stood behind Avelina. She unzipped her dress, letting it fall to the floor. Now she was left in nothing but her undergarment.

"Let’s see if this fits." Mrs. Lara walked forward, helping Avelina into the dress.

Avelina shoved her arms into the thin lining and took a deep breath as it was pulled upward.

Mrs. Lara hurried over to stand behind her. She pulled on the threads, tightening the corset around her belly. Due to it being too tight for her, Avelina’s bosom was quite pushed up, almost spilling out of her dress.

Aurora, who stood by the side, flickered her eyes.

"Um...I’m not sure that’s her size." She could glimpse Avelina’s reddish face and could also tell she was having a hard time breathing properly.

Avelina furiously fluttered her eyes, completely agreeing with her. She deeply exhaled and escaped out of the woman’s grip.

"Please stop! I can’t breathe!" She quickly loosened the knotted thread of the corset and turned around to stare at Mrs. Lara.

She said, "This is not my size, it does not fit. Do you want to kill me??"

Mrs. Lara stood with a look of confusion. "But...this was the measurement I took of you last time."
