Chapter 245: Do I Need To Be Romantic Too?

Draven nodded.

"Yes. Is there a problem?"

"No." Valentine shook his head, almost about to cackle. "I am just a bit stunned if that makes sense. I can’t seem to think of anything you could possibly need my help with."

"I do need your help." Draven’s expression was stern.

"If you cannot help, I understand." He turned around to leave, but Valentine quickly hurried out of his room barefoot, grabbing his arm to stop him.

Adam glanced at his pale, bare feet and instantly rushed into the room to grab his shoes.

"Wait, wait, my gosh!" Valentine glared at Draven.

Draven halted and looked at him. "What is it?"

Valentine rubbed his temple, pretty stressed out by his behavior.

"Jesus, relax. I didn’t say that I wasn’t going to help you. I was just surprised, and that is all. Calm down, please."

"Wasn’t I calm? Did I seem distressed?" Draven was genuinely curious.

Valentine arched his brows. "Huh?" He face-palmed himself and slightly smiled. "No, you are fine. Do not mind me."

"So what do you need my help with?"

Draven abruptly took his lanky hand. "Come with me." He began to pull him along with him. Valentine, who had not expected him to grab his hand, began to hurry to keep up with his pace despite being barefoot.

Adam, who had come out with his shoes, quickly began to scurry after them. "Young master, your shoes! Please wear them, you might get hurt!"

Valentine managed to get the shoes, but he was unable to wear them until Draven finally came to a stop on the secluded balcony of the royal mansion.

"Why are we here?" Valentine asked. He looked around, quite bewildered. What exactly was going on?

Draven took a deep breath and turned around to look at him.

"I did something wrong," he said.

"Huh?" Valentine was a bit taken aback by his words. Did something go wrong? What could it be? And why was he telling him?

He walked over to take his seat on the couch and bent down to wear his shoes. "What did you do wrong?"

Draven responded, "I wronged my wife."

This caused Valentine to halt what he was doing. He lifted his head, peering at Draven. "You wronged your wife? Sister-in-law? Avelina?" He needed to be sure of whom he was referring to.

Draven nodded. His eyes were filled with guilt and apprehension.

"What did you do?" Valentine probed. Despite the glasses Draven wore, he could glimpse that guilt and worry in his pupils.

Draven shook his head. "I cannot tell."

"Oh...kay..." Valentine continued to tie his shoes.

He cleared his throat. "So you wronged her, and now...you need help?"

Draven gave a nod. "Yes."

"With what exactly?" Valentine finally straightened up and crossed his legs. He fixed his full attention on him.

Draven was quiet. It appeared as though he was not sure how to state his concerns. He took a few moments before saying, "I want to apologize to her. I have done so, but...I feel like it is not enough."

"I do not think she has forgiven me, and she’s not happy either. I want to fix it and make her happy again, so...I am wondering if there is a different way to make a proper apology—one that she will accept."

"I thought you might have an idea. I don’t know about any of these kinds of things, so I could only ask for your help. That is why I am here."

Valentine sat staring at him. His lips slowly curled up into a smile, and he lowered his head to stare at his hands.

So his brother really isn’t as emotionless as he seems. He had never seen him that way. Although, what could he have possibly done to Avelina?

He looked at Draven and folded his arms, smirking.

"There are different ways to apologize, Draven."

"What ways?" Draven shifted closer, interested.

Valentine began to stroke his jaw as though thinking. "Well, I’m not an expert at this since I’ve never been in love, so—"

"Love?" Draven interrupted him. "What are you talking about?" He was perplexed. He was sure he’d never mentioned anything about love...

Valentine frantically fluttered his eyes and quickly coughed while also averting his gaze. His stupid tongue again! He had forgotten that Draven was not emotionally capable in that aspect.

He tapped his forehead and took a deep breath to continue from where he stopped.

"Well, as I said, there are different ways to make a proper, heartfelt apology," he continued.

Draven raised his brows at him. "Which...are?"

"Well, for starters, you could get her something she likes and apologize, or...you can get her flowers," Valentine replied.

Draven tilted his head. "Flowers?"

"Mhm Hm." Valentine nodded, smirking. "I’m not an expert, but I do know that women love bouquets. It is very romantic and—"

"I thought I was supposed to be apologizing. Do I need to be romantic too?" Draven seemed genuinely confused and curious.

"No, of—" Valentine immediately went quiet. "You know what? Yes, you do," he affirmed.

This was an opportunity sent from the heavens! Draven lacks complete understanding of these sorts of things, so he could take advantage of them. This man has to fall in love—he needs to!

Sure, one doesn’t need to be romantic to apologize, but it wouldn’t hurt if Draven were, right? I mean, this could spark some love between the both of them.

Not to portray favoritism, but he feels that there is more pure connection and emotion between Avelina and Draven compared to Draven and his late wife. Even if Draven doesn’t fall in love with Avelina, at least Avelina might love him. She could possibly be the first person to give him the love he deserves from a partner. At least, give him the experience.

Oh, I will make sure this works... Valentine began to rub his hands together while scheming within him. His face held a grin.

Draven, who was gazing at him deeply, did not at all like that expression on his face, and he could feel that something was not right. But he could not pinpoint what the problem was.

"Why are you grinning?" he questioned.
