Chapter 231: Roman...tic?
The woman looked at the necklace and examined it. She lifted her head and smiled at Draven.
"Your Highness, it is complete."
"What?" Draven wrinkled his brow. The necklace did not at all look finished to him.
The lady beamed at him. She grabbed another box from the shelf and opened it right beside the sunshine.
"It is complete, however, due to it being a couple’s necklace, it is dual," she explained.
Draven drew his head back and glanced at the necklace as well as the one beside it. "A couple...necklace?"
The lady nodded, putting on her gloves.
She proceeded to brief him, "This..." She grabbed the other necklace, which had the shape of a moon. "...Is the complete part of this one." She took the other necklace. "When you bring them together, they lock instantly, taking a complete form. It is beautiful and considered very romantic."
Draven blinked his eyes. "Roman..tic?" He does have a slight understanding of what it means to be romantic, but he has no idea how that is done. It is something done out of love, right? That was indeed a big problem for him. For someone who had never felt the emotion "love," this appeared quite hard.
"Do you have any other with the pendant of complete sunshine?" he queried.
The woman sadly shook her head.
"My apologies, Your Highness, but unfortunately we do not."
A necklace with such a particular pendant would fit her perfectly. What should I do? Draven took a moment to think.
He was afraid that if he bought this particular pair, he would make her more uncomfortable than he already had since it was considered romantic. But it would also be useless to purchase one without the other. The two necklaces are obviously meant to be together.
A soft breath fled his nose. He could buy it and give both to her, right? And if she does not want both, he could hold on to the moon and refrain from ever wearing it. That way, he wouldn’t make her uncomfortable, right? Besides, the sunshine still looks very pretty, complete or not.
"I’ll take both of them," he said, grabbing his credit card from his pocket.
The woman received the credit card from him and made the payment. She gave the credit card back to him, and Draven shoved it into his pocket.
Before he left, he said to the woman, "Send it along with the dress in four days. No delay is wanted, understood?"
"Yes, Your Highness." The woman nodded.
Draven exited the jewelry section and returned to the private room. There, Avelina was seated on the couch. From the worried expression on her face, it was clear that she had been waiting for him.
"Are you done?" Draven inquired as he moved toward her.
Avelina glanced at him and quickly stood up from the couch. She nodded her head, a look of relief washing over her face.
Draven grabbed her head. "Let’s return. The dress will be sent later." He left the company with her to make his way to the car.
They arrived back at the royal mansion in no time. Draven lifted Avelina’s frame in a bridal style and began to approach their quarter.
Santino opened the door for him, and he entered, carefully cupping Avelina in his arms. He strolled over to the bed and sat her down. Then he squatted down and took her shoes off.
"Do you feel better now?" he asked.
Avelina gave a nod, her eyes staring intently at him.
Draven stood up, walked to the closet, and kept the shoes. He returned, but before he left, he said with a soft expression, "Sleep well, Avelina." He opened the door, leaving.
The second the door was shut, a deep breath fled Avelina’s nose, and she ran her fingers through her hair.
She was just one step away from asking him to spend the night with her. She wanted him to, but that was unfortunately something she could not implore him to do. Until those unfamiliar, unwanted feelings die, she will need to stay away and keep her distance from him at all costs.
It hurts to know he blames himself, no matter how many times she tells him he is not the problem. I mean, Draven was a man with a different way of thinking. Without a direct explanation, he would not be able to comprehend or reason.
She plopped down on the bed, not bothering to change into her nightwear. She stared at the ceiling before abruptly dropping her arm over her face.
"I’m sorry... I’m really sorry," she apologized, turning over to lay on her side and hug the pillow.
——
Draven left the royal mansion in his car. His destination was his villa, where Olive and the rest lived.
Upon arrival, he drove in to park the car. He proceeded straight into the building and strolled to the living room. As expected, most of them were seated around, doing each of their own things.
Prince was lying silently on the couch, his eyes closed and a white ear warmer covering his ears.
Was he cold? Possibly considering the chilly weather.
On the other hand, Lucien and Pierre were having a conversation. Beside them sat Ava, whose attention was fixated on the book she was reading. They were absent-minded, which was why they had yet to notice him.
Prince’s nose twitched as though he had smelled Draven’s scent, and he quickly blinked his eyes open.
"Don!" He got up on the sofa, drawing the attention of the others.
Lucien turned her head, and the second her gaze fell on Draven, she stood up from the couch. Pierre followed suit.
"Ava!" Lucien tapped her head to snap her back into reality. She was so immersed in the book she was reading that she had no idea Draven was there, even after the others noticed.
Ava touched her aching head. She was about to glare at Lucien, but she went quiet at the sight of Draven, who was staring down at her.
"D-don!"
