Chapter 224: Get Rid Of The Body

Ryan continued.

"I thought you were a reasonable witch who would behave herself, but you are nothing but a bratty old hag!"

Ceicei glared at him. "Don’t you dare call me that!"

Ryan raised his brow at her and burst into laughter.

"Oh, we both know you are an old hag—most of you witches are. Hiding behind a spell and seeming young to the eyes, tsk tsk tsk." He shook his head. "Although I must compliment this spell, You may be old, but you are quite beautiful."

"I’ve heard that it takes a lot to actually cast such a spell, so I wonder...would it be okay if I harm this face of yours?" he taunted, slowly beginning to draw the knife across her face. This little cut opened Ceicei’s skin, and blood began to drip from her wound onto the wooden floor.

Ceicei’s eyes widened, realizing what this man was about to do to her. Her breathing heightened, and she quickly tried to back away from him, but Ryan gripped her by the hair, forcing her into one spot.

"Do you think you can run from me, old hag? No, no, no, of course not! Not after what you have done to my wife." Ryan shook his head. The deadly glint in his eyes made it clear that he was not at all joking.

Ceicei deeply frowned, perplexed. "What are you talking about?"

Ryan smiled at her.

"I see you have recently threatened my wife. What insolence! Not only had you threatened her, but you went so far as to cause her harm. You witches seem to have forgotten that you are in our palms. We let you dwell in this country, and all of a sudden, it has seemed to fly over your empty skull." His voice was filled with hatred.

Ceicei’s ugly expression darkened. "I do not know what you’re talking about. True, I did give your wife a warning, but I never harmed her."

Ryan landed another hit on her face. "Garder le silence, woman! What do you think I am? An idiot?"

Ceicei could only stare at him, confused.

"What a coincidence that right after you threatened my wife, she developed an unidentified rash that has refused to clear up. I do not even need to hear your thoughts to know that you are the culprit," Ryan stated.

Ceicei retaliated, saying, "I have done nothing wrong. I did not harm your wife!"

"You are free to read my thoughts if that will prove my innocence!"

Ryan furrowed his brows and stared into her eyes. He could hear her thoughts now, meaning that she had indeed stopped blocking him.

The more he read, the darker and more confused his expression was. It was clear from her thoughts that she was not the culprit. One’s thoughts cannot lie, even if their mouth can. An individual cannot manipulate his or her own thoughts unless they are mentally unstable.

Ryan drew his head back, taking a deep breath.

"Let me go!" Ceicei glared at him.

Ryan gazed at her and abruptly shook his head. "I cannot do that."

"What?" Ceicei was confused. "I have already opened my thoughts to you. So what—"

"You may not have harmed my wife, but you threatened her. You were impertinent, and I will not let that slide. Not only that but there is no assurance that you wouldn’t attempt to hurt my wife in the future," Ryan responded.

"You witches seemed to have gotten quite comfortable, and I must use you to set an example. An example that none of your kind would ever forget."

"I heard that when one of you dies, the rest of your kind will know immediately since you all mostly share one soul. It’s good." He chuckled.

Ceicei fluttered her eyes.

"You want to kill me?" The blood trickling from the wound on her face dropped to the floor.

Ryan smiled, confirming her assumption. He stood up and shoved his hand into the pocket of his pants. He pulled out a gun and loaded it.

"Yes, I do want to kill you. But you see, as a merciful man that I am, I will not kill you in an agonizing way, rather, I will give you an easy death, so that your soul may rest in peace," as he cocked the gun, he replied.

Ceicei’s body shook violently, and she burst into laughter. "Rest in peace?" She began to laugh like a maniac, as though she had gone insane.

"Your royalties truly are disgusting."

"That’s okay." Ryan laughed along with her. "Call us whatever suits you. Hate on us—that’s just alright." He turned around to face her.

He raised the gun, pointing and aiming for her forehead. "Guess what, old hag?"

"We vampires hate you miscreants more than you could ever despise us. You lots are nothing but germs that must be exterminated."

Ceicei balled her hands into tight fists. She trembled on her spot, and a painful tear slipped from her eyes. She smiled, lifting her gray orbs to look at Ryan.

"I curse you and your wife. Both of you will perish in the most painful way one could ever imagine, and your son will follow the same fate as you. None of you will ever find or taste peace." She began cackling in a provoking manner afterward.

Ryan didn’t like this, so, of course, to shut her up, he pulled the trigger, shooting Ceicei three times in a row.

Ceicei’s teary eyes flickered, and she slowly plummeted to the floor, her life fleeing from her.

Ryan took deep breaths to calm his racing heart. He dropped the gun, approached Ceicei’s body, and squatted down beside her.

"Rest in peace," he uttered, before standing up and exiting the house.

"Get rid of her body. I don’t want it in there," he ordered before leaving.

The royal guards proceeded to do as they were told. They took care of Ceicei’s body, doing a little favor to bury her. If left to Ryan, he would have suggested they throw her off somewhere and let her deceased body rot for the crows that may feast on her.
