Chapter 219: Do You Want Me To Call Him For You?

Avelina gazed at his disappearing back. What did he mean by ’the issue has been resolved?’

The spoon in her hand slipped, falling into her food, and she clutched her heart, resisting herself from breaking down.

She could tell him, right? She could tell him her reasons, but how would she explain them? She doesn’t even know what it was that she felt, but it was a feeling that made her want to be closer to him than ever. It was a feeling she needed to get rid of, otherwise, she might never be able to stay away from him when the time comes for her to leave.

Could it be love? Avelina blinked rapidly. No, it cannot possibly be. This could not be love—it cannot be! She shook her head, not willing to believe that. There was no possibility that she could have fallen in love with a vampire. No, of course not!

It was just desire—yes, that is what it was.

Avelina took a deep breath, standing up from her seat. She had lost her appetite and was no longer interested in having her breakfast. She adjusted her light blue dress and left the pavilion to return to her room.

Santino, who stood by, opened the door for her.

Avelina walked inside, but she came to a halt when she did not find Draven in the room. She glanced at the clock, very sure that this was the time at which he slept. Where was he? Did he leave?

She quickly opened the door. "Santino, w-where is Draven? Do you know where he is?" she queried in a stressed tone.

Santino cynically smiled at her, apologetic.

"My young master has left. He is not in the royal mansion currently."

"What?" Avelina scrunched her face. He left? But...where to? He would usually tell her before he leaves, so where could he have possibly gone without even telling her?

She tightened her grip on her dress and asked, "Do you know where he went?"

Santino gazed at her for a few moments. He was not sure if he should go ahead and tell her, but then again, she should at least know. He unsure what the problem was, but he could tell that something was amiss between the two of them.

A soft breath fled his nose, and he responded, "My lady, his Highness has left for his villa. I believe he is just going there to get a rest. Do not worry. he will be back by the night."

"B-by the night?" Avelina’s heart dropped to her stomach, and she staggered back, grabbing a hold of the handle. He was going to be away for that long?

Santino held a look of worry. "My lady, are you okay? Do you want me to call him for you?"

Avelin shook her head at him.

"No, it’s okay. I’m alright." She half smiled at him and stepped into the room, shutting the door behind her.

She approached the bed and sat down on it. She grabbed a book from the mini table, wanting to read it and keep her mind off everything. But this was futile, as it didn’t help at all.

She tossed the book away in annoyance and curled up on the bed, angry with herself. She hugged the pillow, burying her face in it. But this did not give her the sort of comfort she wanted—the sort of comfort that only that one man could give her.

Avelina turned her head, glancing at the chair in the room. His shirt was still hanging there from last night. She bit her lower lip before standing up from the bed. She approached the chair and grabbed the shirt.

Avelina smelled it, his soothing scent filling her nose. She loved the smell of him. It was comforting, and it felt like he was right there with her.

She turned around and walked back to the bed. She laid down, hugging the shirt to her chest.

"I’m sorry..." Avelina apologized, shutting her eyes as she had no desire to think too much. But all she could see was his face. His perfection and his sort of awkward smile—she loved it. She missed him.

She exhaled deeply and inhaled his scent, wallowing in it. She would wait—she would wait till he came back. Maybe something could change.

——

Draven stood by the window in the guest room of his villa. His attention was fixed on the sunrise. He could not help but think of Avelina. Each time she smiled, this was exactly how it made him feel.

A soft breath fled his nose, and he ran his fingers through his hair.

The door suddenly creaked open, causing him to turn around. His gaze fell on a tall, voluptuous woman whose blonde hair was left falling almost to her bottom. She had a soft smile on her lips, and her gray eyes twinkled as she stared at Draven.

Draven held no emotion. Why was this unknown lady in his room—one would ask. This was because he had invited her on his own.

Avelina was wrong when she assumed he didn’t recall what happened the previous night. Sure, he didn’t remember the moment he had woken up, but he did recollect after a few hours.

He was starting to wonder if that was the reason why she had asked him to give her distance. He was wrong, sure, but he didn’t mean to. He was not in his right mind at that moment, but then again, he does not think it was an excuse enough.

This lady currently in his room had come for a reason. He had not been able to forget how he felt. He cannot tell if he meant what he said to her that night or if he didn’t, but one strange thing was that the feelings he felt were still stuck with him.

He still wanted to do every single thing he did to her over and over again, and he knew he should not be feeling that way.
