Chapter 214: Loui!!
Chapter 214: Loui!!
Draven shook his head.
"Indeed, she will be, but..." he paused, taking a glimpse of each of their faces. "... He will need something to elevate his mood after such a shocking gift is given to him."
"Haha..." He chuckled under his breath, barely making a sound.
Every one of them glanced at each other and slowly nodded their heads, coming to an agreement with him.
"So what are we to get?" Olive asked.
Draven tilted his head, twirling the chair that he was seated on. "Get me a paper and a pen."
Prince stood up from his chair and left for the shelves to grab a blank book and a pen. He returned and gave them to Draven, taking a seat beside him.
Draven tore out a piece of paper and wrote what he wanted inside of it. He reached out his hand to give it to Olive, but Loui, who thought that he was about to give it to him, proceeded to collect it.
Draven swiveled, handing it over to Olive. This caused Loui to flicker his eyes.
Why? That was his first thought. It was usually him, no, it was always him!
It may have been just him overthinking before, but recently, it felt like Draven had been constantly handing everything over to Olive. Was Olive taking his place as the first? He met Draven first before Olive did! In fact, Olive came third after him and Pierre, so why? What was going on? Did he do something wrong?
"Allow Olive and Pierre to deal with this, Loui," Draven said to him.
Loui frowned. "But why? This is usually...my job." His voice went low at his last sentence.
Draven furrowed his brows at him.
"What do you mean?"
"Nothing." Loui shook his head. He turned around, leaving.
Draven, who was not sure what was going on, glanced at them. "What is wrong with him?" he inquired. He had only given the job to Olive and Pierre because he felt like it. He could perceive displeasure from Loui, but why was he dissatisfied?
Lucien spread her arms, clueless. "No idea."
Olive shook his head, not sure what was wrong either.
"Maybe he wanted the job," Ava said, not even sure herself.
Draven raised his brow. "And is that something to be dissatisfied about?"
"I cannot understand him sometimes." He glanced at the stairs through which Loui had walked to go to the second floor.
A soft breath fled his mouth, and he grabbed one of his credit cards, giving it to Olive. "Return it to me once the job is done."
"Yes, Don." Olive nodded, receiving the credit card from him.
Draven left the mansion and boarded his car to leave. As soon as he was gone, everyone turned their attention to the stairs.
"What was that just now?" Pierre questioned. "What is wrong with Loui?"
Prince scrunched his face—he clearly didn’t like his attitude earlier at all. In no sense was it okay for him to behave that way. It was just a job, nothing more. If Don gave the job to Olive and Pierre, then he clearly had his reasons.
Lucien rubbed her temple and walked over to the stairs.
"Loui!" she called.
But no response came from Loui. "Loui!" she called again, but there was still no reply.
"I’ll go talk to him," she said to everyone before she began to make her way up the stairs.
She strolled over to Loui’s door and left three light knocks. "Loui."
"Go away, Lucien. I don’t want to talk, please." Loui’s voice sounded from inside the room.
Lucien rolled her eyes and knocked again. "Open the door, Loui. I’m not leaving here until you do."
Loui was not willing to open the door. This caused Lucien to stand there for at least two to three minutes while knocking continuously on the door.
Fed up, Loui angrily opened the door. He parted his lips, ready to lash at her, but Lucien pushed him back before he could and stepped into the room, shutting the door.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" she questioned.
Loui blinked his eyes. He took deep breaths and turned around to have his back facing her.
Lucien walked over to stand in front of him. "Talk to me, Loui."
"Everyone is worried about you. You literally behaved in a way that we have never seen you do before, and it’s worrisome. Something is definitely wrong, so tell me what it is."
"Lucien, can you just freaking leave me alone?" Loui asked, annoyed.
Lucien shook his head at him. "No, I cannot do that!"
She exhaled. "Loui, when I came here, you were the first person who spoke to me and befriended me. You made me feel less lonely, so yes, I am worried. Even if you won’t talk to others, please talk to me at least."
Loui stared at her. He let out a frustrated breath and plopped down onto the seat. He threw his head back and ran his fingers through his blonde hair.
"I just feel left out. Recently, it feels like Olive has been getting his attention too much."
Lucien’s jaw fell. "W-what? What do you mean by that?"
Loui adjusted on the sofa.
"Lucien, I used to be first before. I used to be aware of everything before anyone else, but now it’s just Olive, and if it’s not Olive, it’s Pierre, then if it’s not Pierre, it’s you guys and I am just sort of the last."
"Tell me, since this mission started, what have I done? Nothing. You guys have had your sets of tasks, and I am the only one who has gotten nothing," he explained.
Lucien blinked her eyes. She stared at him for a few seconds before letting out a confused laugh. "Loui... are you drunk? Why are you talking like this? You know that none of what you’ve just said is true."
"It is true, Lucien!" Loui countered.
"No, it is not!" Lucien glared at him. "Why are you speaking like this? Why are you being like this?"
"You’ve left Don confused because he really doesn’t understand what the problem is or what is going on with you. We know he doesn’t grasp emotions quite well, and you freaking know that too!"
"Don is someone who does things the way he likes. If he chooses to give the job to Olive and Pierre, then fucking respect it. I don’t like this attitude, Loui."
She stood up from the sofa. "I’m going to go. When you are ready to talk to us, we will listen." She left, slamming the door shut.
Loui rubbed his temple, suddenly feeling worse than he had earlier.
