Chapter 210: Julie, Stop!!
Chapter 210: Julie, Stop!!
Avelina took a few seconds before shaking her head in response.
"Isn’t it?"
"No." Draven shook his head.
"What else exists?" Avelina inquired. She was curious and wanted to know.
"Le Diable," Draven replied.
Avelina drew her head back, perplexed. "Draven...I don’t know what that means."
Draven stared at her for a few moments before shaking his head as though amused.
"It’s nothing. Do not worry." He patted her head with a soft smile on his lips.
"One thing you must know, Avelina, is that whether there is a mastermind or not, no one can control me but myself. I am nobody’s chess piece or entertainment. I do what I do for my own sake and not for the sake of amusing someone else, whoever it may be behind the shadows."
The way he was speaking, it felt as though he was indirectly talking to someone else—someone whom Avelina neither knew nor was able to see.
Avelina blinked her eyes and let out a soft breath. Something she had no idea about was going on—this she was sure about.
Le Diable! That word was jotted down in her memory. She would have to find out what it meant, and she knew just how.

[6:40 pm]
Natasha blinked her eyes open. She yawned as she sat up on the bed and looked beside her to see that Ryan was gone. He must have woken up before her.
The first thing she did was get down from the bed and approach the mirror. Her rash should be gone by now.
Unfortunately for her, it appeared even worse than it did yesterday. Natasha could feel her heart drop to her stomach. She staggered back and fell to the floor.
She could not even bring herself to scream due to the shock she was in. She began to breathe heavily, and she could feel tears begin to fall from her eyes.
"R-Ryan....RYAN!!!" she screamed his name.
Laila, her maid-in-waiting, rushed into the room.
"My lady!" She hurried toward her, gripping her by the arm to help her up from the floor, but Natasha was not budging. She was in such deep shock that she was even finding it hard to breathe.
"Someone, please help!" Laila pleaded.
Luckily for them, Ryan was coming back to check on Natasha, as he had felt that she had woken up. At the sound of Laila’s desperate voice, he rushed into the room to see Natasha curled up on the floor crying.
"Natasha!" Ryan immediately grabbed hold of her, pulling her into his arms. He looked at Laila with a frown on his face. "Leave at once!"
Laila anxiously nodded her head and hurriedly left the room. The second she shut the door, Ryan returned his attention to his wife.
"Natasha! Natasha, look at me. Please calm down." He cupped her cheeks in his palms and tilted her head to have her look at him.
"Ryan..." Natasha’s voice was barely audible.
Ryan smiled at her, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Calm down, okay? I need you to calm down."
"Ryan, it didn’t go away. It’s worse than before," Natasha said to him, her tears falling profusely.
Ryan used his thumb to wipe away her tears. He gently hugged her while caressing her hair.
"It’s okay, there is no need to panic. Nothing is wrong with you. I’m sure it’s just a rash like the one from last year."
"But the treatment didn’t work, Ryan. It made it—"
"Shhhh." Ryan hushed her up and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Listen, the treatment may not have worked, but it’s alright. I will have your maid go to Mr Gauche and get you a new cure."
"You’ll be fine, I promise," he assured. "So, calm down, okay?"
Even though Natasha was skeptical, she decided to trust and wait on him this time around.
"Okay..." She nodded her head, slowly wiping off the tears dropping from her eyes.
Ryan let go of her and stood up on the floor. "Stay here and wait for me, okay? I’ll be back."
He gently smiled at her and left the room. He made his way to the maid’s quarter to find Laila.
"Your Highness!" The second Laila caught sight of him, she scurried out of the maid’s quarter to stand before him.
Ryan took a deep breath. "Go to the royal market and meet Mr. Gauche. Ask him for a treatment that can cure any type of rash," he assigned. "Take this." He gave her a golden-colored royal pass.
Laila vigorously nodded her head as she received the pass. This will give her the ability to make any sort of purchase from the royal market without having to pay at all.
Ryan turned around and left. Laila rushed back into the maid’s quarter. She grabbed her bag to leave, but one of the maids gripped her arm, stopping her.
"Laila, what’s going on?" The young girl was a brunette with a petite figure.
Laila frowned at her. "Julie, stop! This is none of your business."
"Je sais, but tell me, please," Julie pleaded.
It looked as though Laila had a second thought before finally speaking. "Well, Lady Natasha developed a rash." She was whispering.
Julie gasped in a low voice. "What?"
Laila nodded at her. "I g-gave her the usual remedy she took last year, but it didn’t work. I-it actually appeared worse than it was this morning."
"Oh, mon dieu!" Julie covered her mouth in deep shock.
Laila anxiously bit her lower lip and snatched her arm from Julie. "I’ll be taking my leave now." She hurried out of the quarter and rushed off to exit the royal mansion.
She hailed a taxi and entered to leave for the Royal supermarket.
Throughout the ride, Laila was continuously tapping her feet on the floor of the car. She seemed very anxious, but for what reason? No one could tell.
People have assumed it was her natural behavior, as she always seemed anxious and paranoid for no reason.
