Chapter 199: B-braid? [Note: Special Chapter]

Draven glanced at her.

"I do have to. I cannot and must not touch anyone else barehanded, apart from my wife. I only feel comfortable enough to do that around her."

As though this shattered something in both Ava and Lucien, they looked at him with horrified expressions.

"Don!" they hollered.

"What?" Draven answered, not sure why they looked as though they had seen a ghost.

Ava puckered her lips, averting her gaze. "Nothing."

Lucien folded her arms, still looking at what he was doing. Her expression did not look good. She seemed...annoyed.

Draven, who had absolutely no idea what he could have done wrong, shrugged and continued what he was doing.

"Am I doing it right?" he asked.

Lucien batted her lashes and pinched between her brows, cackling. "You will have to do this a few more times to get the hang of it."

This went on for a few more minutes. Draven still appeared as focused as ever.

Loud footsteps coming from outside could be heard. The door pushed open and none other than Loui, Olive, Pierre, and Prince walked in. Their faces were flushed, making it clear that they must have drunk quite a lot.

"That was so good!" Loui had a full smile on his lips.

Pierre chuckled. "That lady was so pretty! It’s such a shame I could not get her contact info!"

Olive glared at him.

"It is not that you couldn’t get her contact info, you are just naturally terrible with women. You do not know how to woo women."

"You are right." Pierre nodded, a sad expression apparent on his face. "I’m freaking handsome but women don’t seem to like me. Why?"

He glanced at Olive. "Olive, tell me your secret. How do you get women to flock over you? Do you have some attraction spell on you?"

Olive smirked. "I don’t do no such petty things. I am just naturally blessed with women, hahaha. They come to me when I don’t even ask for them."

Pierre let out a soft sigh as they entered the living room.

"Lucie—" They raised their heads and at the sight of Draven who was focused on what he was doing, they came to a stop.

"D-don?" Loui was the first to speak.

Draven glanced at them. "You all reek of alcohol. I can smell it from all the way here." The look on his face was one of irritation.

Pierre blinked, his mouth slightly agape. "D-don, what are you...doing?"

Olive rubbed his eyes, just to be sure he was not dreaming.

"Learning how to braid," Draven responded.

"B-braid?" They all glanced at each other.

"Pourquoi?" Prince inquired. He was curious

Draven replied, "For my wife. It is a long story. Do not mind me."

"Oh..." Olive cackled awkwardly and slowly turned around to walk the other way. "Yeah...I will be going now."

The rest hurriedly followed after him.

"Wait, is that really, Don?" As soon as they arrived down the hallway, Loui queried.

Pierre nodded. "It is. I have never seen something so surprising in my life."

"Moi aussi," Prince said, concurring with him.

"I have never seen Don do something like that." Olive shook his head. "Now I really wonder what had happened or what lady Avelina said to him to cause him to do this."

Loui nodded his head, "I really want to know. It’s so unbelievable! I would never think Don would be willing to do that for anyone."

Everyone gave a nod, agreeing with him.

[Early Morning The Next Day]

The rays of the early morning sun shone through the window of the room.

Avelina fluttered her eyes open and sat up on the bed. She yawned, stretching her muscles in the process. She looked around the room for Draven, but a frown emerged on her face when she saw no sign of him.

She got up from the bed and walked towards the door.

"Santino..." as Avelina opened the door, she called.

Santino turned his head and looked at her. "Oh, good morning, my lady." He slightly bowed to her.

Avelina half-smiled at him.

"Do you know where Draven went?"

"Oh." Santino beamed. "Young master is in the garden. He is feeding the fishes in the pond."

Avelina was a bit surprised. She thought the workers did that.

"When you are ready, I shall take you to meet him," Santino said.

"Oh, thank you very much." Avelina closed the door and took a deep breath. She has no reason to wait till Camilla and Thalia arrive for her to have her bath.

With that in mind, she strolled towards the bathroom and entered. It took about twenty minutes before she was done.

She zipped up her knee-length pink-colored dress and approached the mirror to look at herself. The dress had long arms with an off-shoulder-styled neck.

Satisfied with the dress, she twirled on her feet and halted to smile at her reflection in the mirror. She gave her hair a quick comb and styled it up in a bun, leaving a few curls to stick out.

Done, Avelina exhaled and slipped her feet into her white slipper. She went to the door and stepped out to meet Santino, who was waiting by the door for her.

Santino looked at her and extended his hand out for her. "Shall we?"

"Uh...sure," Avelina responded while taking his hand.

Respectfully, Santino walked her to the garden, and the moment she walked through the gate, he stepped back, no longer willing to go further with her.

Avelina made her way deeper into the garden by herself. Upon her arrival at the pond, she halted at the sight of Draven, who was squatting down near the pond.

His intent gaze was fixed on the Koi fishes swimming about. He extended his gloved hand, touching the water and wanting to feed them more.

"Draven..." Avelina called his name, catching his attention.

Draven, at the sound of her voice, turned his head immediately. His crimson eyes behind the glasses he wore stopped on her, and slowly while staring at her, he stood up to his feet.
