Chapter 191: My Masterpiece!

Chapter 191: My Masterpiece!

Draven’s tone held all sincerity, causing Avelina’s expression to soften.

"Draven..." Her words were more of a whisper.

Draven flickered his eyes, unwilling to break eye contact with her.

"You sound...jealous..." Avelina mumbled, starting to hear her heart thumping loudly in her ears.

"Jealous?" Draven was confused.

He does not know the feeling of jealousy, as it was something he had never felt before.

Could it be that the irking and annoying feelings he felt earlier were what they called...jealousy?

He lifted his hand to touch his chest. "I guess I am indeed jealous. It’s a very weird feeling if I must say." He took a deep breath and stood up to his feet. "Shall we go back now?"

Avelina nodded at him. Before she could even stand up, Draven pulled her up into his arms. He had her wrap her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck.

Then, with the use of his unbuttoned coat, he wrapped it over her, covering her completely and leaving only her head to poke out.

"I feel so small," Avelina grumbled.

Draven lowered his smiling eyes and glanced at her. He ruffled her hair and began to exit the dining room. "It’s very cold outside, and I don’t want you to get cold," he said.

He looked out for Valentine and called him over upon sighting him.

"We are going home."

"Oh..." Valentine appeared disappointed. "Where is your wife?" he asked.

"Right here!" Avelina peeked at him.

Valentine quickly covered his mouth. "Oh, mon dieu. Hahaha." He chuckled softly, finding it quite funny.

"You are adorable, sister-in-law." The urge to ruffle her hair overwhelmed him, but knowing that Draven would chop his hands into pieces of meat, he began to exit the house, cackling to himself.

An ugly frown emerged on Draven’s face, but this time around, he did not utter a word. He simply left the mansion toward the car.

He opened the front seat and gently put Avelina on her feet to sit her down. Valentine took the back seat.

Draven strolled over and sat down on the passenger seat. He started the car and drove off onto the road.

Lucien stood in front of the table in her workroom.

Her gaze was fixed on a small bottle that seemed to contain a liquid. "It’s done." She snapped her fingers, smiling.

Without hesitation, she hurried downstairs and called for the others. They arrived in the meeting room and sat down in their respective chairs at the table.

"Lucien, is everything okay?" Pierre asked.

Lucien nodded at him with a smile apparent on her face. "Everything is just fine. In fact, I have good news!" She chuckled softly, seeming quite exhilarated.

Loui raised his brow, curiosity written all over his face.

"Tell us."

Lucien took a deep breath before saying, "I’m done with the poison."

Everyone was silent. They were looking at her with an expression of disbelief. How could she possibly be done? Don gave her a week, but there were still two days until a week.

"Are you serious?" Ava asked.

Lucien nodded her head. "Yes, of course. I couldn’t possibly call you guys down here for nothing." She clicked her tongue and stood up from her seat. "Follow me; I’ll show you."

She began to proceed to the stairs.

Quite interested, Loui and the rest followed behind her, including Olive, whose expression was blank.

They made it up to the second floor, and Lucien opened the door to her working room.

"Be careful and do not touch anything!" she warned. "Everything in here is poisonous."

Ava could immediately feel chills run through her body, so she instinctively grabbed her brother’s arm.

Prince glanced at her and gave her gentle pats on the head, as though assuring her that she would be alright.

Lucien halted before the table. She pointed at the small bottle with a smile on her face.

"There it is."

Everyone glanced at the bottle. They appeared quite surprised.

"It’s...pretty small. Unexpected, if I must say," Pierre commented.

Lucien gave a nod. "Indeed, it is. The ingredients used to make this are very rare, so of course it is small. However, a drop is not a joke."

Then she went ahead to explain, "First of all, unlike other poisons that can be found if the necessities are met, this one can’t. It’s as though it is invisible. Once absorbed, it does its work anonymously, and no matter what method is used, it cannot be detected."

"Let me give you an example."

She grabbed a plate specifically meant for the experiment and opened the bottle. Just a drop was put on the plate. She gripped a silver spoon and began to turn it inside the plate. About a minute passed, and she looked at them.

"See?" He glanced at them.

Everyone looked at each other, not sure what she was trying to prove to them.

"Tsk, bunch of dumbasses!" Lucien clicked her tongue and lifted the silver spoon a bit.

"Listen, if the poison was detected, this silver spoon would have changed color, but as you can see, nothing has changed."

She grabbed another bottle of poison and poured it onto a different plate. She rolled the silver spoon in it and raised it to show them.

"Do you see?"

They all gasped at the sight of it.

"Wow!" Pierre exclaimed, amazed. "How do you even concoct these?"

Lucien smirked, not hiding the fact that she was proud of herself. "Talent, if I must say, haha." She laughed.

"With this, we can get the job done, and no soul will know the root of the death, pfft!"

"This is great," Olive commented, turning around to leave.

Quite surprised by the compliment, Lucien smiled at herself, but she did not say anything.

"I will call Don and let him know immediately that we are done with this stage," Loui said, turning around to exit the room.

Ava smiled at Lucien. "You are so amazing, Luci."

"Thank you, Ava," Lucien appreciated.

Prince gave her a pat on the shoulder and left with Ava.

Lucien fixed her gaze on the Venin D’ombre and smiled.

"My masterpiece!"
