Chapter 180: Who Are You?
Chapter 180: Who Are You?
Old Master Lenort was silent.
"Caesar, that is my—"
"Lenort, you know how dangerous of a person I am. If exposing you is not enough, I will find ways to hurt you and make your life miserable. You should understand that my threats are no joke." This time, Caesar’s tone and expressions were serious.
"She is a maid whom you impregnated by accident, and you will eventually kill her since you believe it’s a sin for a royal to have intimacy with just nothing but a maid. It makes you believe that your son is a curse, so give her to me instead of killing her."
Old Master Lenort was silent for a few moments.
"What will you do with her if I do give her to you?"
"That is none of your business, Lenort. Deal...or no deal?" Caesar asked with an apparent grin on his lips.
Old Master Lenort was silently watching him. It was as though he were trying to contemplate whether to do it or not.
Eventually coming to a decision, he took a deep breath.
"Fine, Erawada will be given to you."
Caesar smiled, pleased. "Thank you, your majesty." He bowed dramatically.
Old Master Lenort appeared annoyed, he left the room, slamming the door shut.
"That boy will be mine, Lenort, whether you like it or not!" Caesar left the room, following Old Master Lenort, who was approaching Erawada’s room, where she was confined.
At the sight of him, the guards standing at each end of the door bowed.
"Open the door," Old Master Lenort commanded.
The guards did as he ordered without hesitation. He stepped into the room to meet Erawada, who was seated on the only wooden chair in the nearly empty room.
She was a flawlessly beautiful woman with long, jet-black hair cascading down to her bottom. Her hazel eyes held no emotion, as though she were a humanoid.
Old Master Lenort scrunched his face at the sight of her. He approached her and harshly gripped her by the jaw.
"Do you see this man?" he questioned. "You belong to him now."
Erawada lifted her eyes, and the moment their gazes met, Caesar smirked at her.
This instantly caused Erawada to feel so nauseated that she almost threw up. Those eyes filled with lust were just the same that Old Master Lenort had for her.
She was nothing more than a fool, failing to realize that it was neither a look of love nor admiration. He simply lusted at her, and she gave him the chance. She was naive!
But can she really blame herself? It was not like she had the chance to say no to a king. He would kill her. But wasn’t dying better than being so naive and bringing an innocent child into the world and leaving him to suffer from the moment he was born?
"She’s all yours, Caesar. Do what you must with her." Old Master Lenort turned around and left the room.
Caesar’s smirk widened, and he gripped Erawada’s arm, pulling her up from the chair.
"Come now, beautiful, you are going home with me."
Erawada was unwilling. "I cannot go with you, sir. I have a son, and I must stay here to take care of him."
Caesar rolled his eyes as though she were babbling gibberish.
"Look here, pretty." He grabbed Erawada by the chin, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "I really do not have time for all these, and neither do I care. You are coming home with me, and that’s it."
He went ahead to bury his face in her neck. "My god, you smell so good as well! I love your scent." He kissed her neck and began to exit the room while pulling her along with him.
As they stepped out, they bumped into someone.
"Santino..." Erawada whispered.
The man who was butler Santino lifted his head only to glimpse Caesar. His eyes shifted to Erawada’s arms, which he gripped onto.
"Who are you?" Santino questioned.
Caesar frowned. "Get out of my way."
But Santino was unwilling.
Erawada did not need to be told for her to know that this man was dangerous, so to avoid trouble, she shook her head at Santino.
Santino was like an older brother to her, even though he was just a butler. He was the only person she trusted and the only person she knew would take care of her son.
"My lady..." Santino was in disbelief.
Erawada smiled at him. "It’s alright, Santino. Please take care of my boy. You mustn’t let him die, please."
Caesar, who could not stand the conversation, yanked Erawada away and began to storm off.
Santino, without deliberation, turned around and began to run down the hall. He took a turn, making his way down to the underground of the royal mansion.
At the iron double door, two guards stood. At the sight of Santino, they frowned.
"What business do you have here?" one of them questioned.
"I’d like to see the little prince," Santino composed himself as he said.
This was normal, as he always visited the little prince every day, but if he were to appear suspicious, these guards would not be willing to let him in. They were strictly put on watch under the orders of Old Master Lenort.
Reluctantly, the guards opened the door for him.
"Be quick," they said.
Santino gave a nod and stepped into the huge, vast empty room. The door slammed shut behind him.
Within this room was nothing except a young boy who lay on the floor, curled up into a softball.
His wrists and ankles were locked by long chains attached to all four corners of the room. This meant he had no possible way of escaping unless the keys to those chains were found.
Santino’s eyes flickered, and he slowly approached the young boy.
"Y-young master..." He went down on his knees beside the boy.
A soft breath fled from the young boy, and he turned his head to glimpse Santino. This boy was Draven. His hair was tousled and long, to the point that its length was to his waist.
He had been confined in the cell for at least three years, and no one took care of him. Therefore, it had been growing on its own. Santino, who had been looking after him, could not do anything as he was not allowed to go in and see him with anything weapon-type.
