Chapter 173: Where Are You Going?

Chapter 173: Where Are You Going?

Draven flickered his eyes, unable to restrain himself from smiling.

"We are almost there. Look up."

Avelina raised her head, and the second she glimpsed the cloud above them, they flew through it, bursting it apart.

Her eyes widened in excitement, and due to the level of elation she felt, she let go of Draven’s neck and spread her arms to scream in exhilaration.

Draven, who already saw that happen five seconds before due to his ability, held onto her, preventing her from falling off. He did not mind her shouting at all, as he knew it was a result of her animation.

"THIS IS AMAZING!!!!" Avelina hollered.

Draven flew through different sets of clouds, twirling her along with him. He wanted her to enjoy it to the fullest.

Avelina could not stop laughing throughout the flight. She was beyond overjoyed and amazed.

Draven finally came to a stop. He was levitating above a cloud.

"Do you want to touch it?" he asked.

Avelina nodded at him.

Draven lowered down, and finally, at the height of the cloud, he grabbed Avelina’s hand and extended it towards the cloud.

Avelina touched it but to her disappointment, the cloud melted away. Her expression fell. "I can’t touch it."

"Mhm...you can’t." Draven patted her head. "I forgot, but clouds are basically water droplets, and they are very small, like the water in steam. So, you can’t really touch it, but we can move through it."

Avelina looked away, disappointed. She wrapped her arms around Draven’s neck and buried her face in his neck.

Draven chuckled. "I’m sorry..." He gently caressed her hair and began to fly back down.

"That was the best experience of my life, you know," Avelina abruptly said to him.

Draven thought for a moment and voiced, "I’m quite surprised that you do not have the fear of heights. The humans I have met do."

He landed softly on his feet.

Avelina raised her head. "Hm, that is because I grew up loving climbing trees. I go to my grandpapa’s place a lot."

She let go of him and stepped down to her feet.

"Why?" Draven probed.

Avelina looked at him. "I don’t like my family."

"Huh?" Draven was taken aback. She doesn’t like her family?

As though having said that without knowing, Avelina covered her mouth and frantically blinked her eyes.

Draven raised his brow at her. "Avelina—"

"It’s nothing, Draven. Haha, don’t mind me." Avelina began to laugh nervously. "Can we play archery now?"

Although he was not convinced by her anxious laughter, Draven did not bother to press, as he could tell she did not want to talk.

"Sure." He snapped his fingers and in a matter of a few minutes, five targets were set down by the bodyguards, and the arrow rack was brought over as well.

Avelina batted her lashes quite stunned. They heard his call with just a snap of his finger. Are their hearings that sharp?

She walked over to Draven, who was rolling up his hair into a quick, messy bun, and stood by him to examine the targets.

Draven took his glasses off. It had become foggy due to the flying, so as soon as the maid received it, she proceeded to wipe it sparkly clean.

"Here." Draven gave a bow and an arrow to her.

Avelina glanced at him and received them. She stared at the two objects, not exactly sure how to handle them.

Of course, she had seen them being used before, so following what she saw, she raised the arrow and positioned it toward the target.

A frown settled itself in between Draven’s brows. "Avelina, that’s not how—"

"Allow me, Draven. I have seen many occasions where this has been used. Let me try first. You never know, I might actually hit the target. I could possibly be good at this but just never knew because I have never tired." She smirked at him.

Draven blinked his eyes. It was not possible, not even in her dreams. The way she was holding the arrow alone was horrific. Her hands were trembling as well.

Avelina took a deep breath and stretched the bow. She fixed her aim at the target, and as soon as she felt she was ready to shoot, she let go of the arrow, expecting it to fly towards the target.

But the arrow ended up falling right at her feet.

Avelina batted her lashes, dumbfounded. She was sure that she had pulled as tightly as she could. Why did it fall at her feet?

Able to feel Draven’s intent gaze on her, she swallowed hard and slowly turned her head to look at him. She darted her eyes from left to right before gummy smiling at him, a bit embarrassed.

Draven shook his head, amused.

"Let me show you the proper way to do it." He stepped behind her, grabbed her shoulder, and had her face front.

He gripped both her hands that held onto the arrow and the bow and raised them.

"Draven..." Avelina bit her lower lip.

"Focus, Avelina," Draven said to her and leaned his head a bit closer to her ear and her shoulder.

"If you want to be sure of a perfect aim, close one of your eyes and target with the other." He used his hand to close one of her eyes.

Then he interlocked his fingers with hers and drew the bow.

"Three...two...one...you let go." The arrow flew, perfectly hitting the bullseye.

Avelina smiled, quite impressed. "That was a perfect shot."

"Mhm, it is." Draven nodded at her. "Do you understand now?"

"Ye...no, no, not at all." Avelina shook her head.

Draven crinkled his brow, a bit confused. "Why not?"

Avelin puckered her lips and moved her eyes from left to right, unwilling to make eye contact with him. Her ears were heating up for reasons he could not tell.

Of course, she just liked him close to her in that way.

"Come." Draven grabbed her hand, pulling her close to him. He once again turned her around and played with her for as long as she wanted.

Eventually, Avelina did get a bit of a hang of it. She could at the very least hit the target, just not the bullseyes.

Avelina stretched her body as the maids took the bow and arrow from her. She hurried after Draven, who began to walk into the mansion.

"Where are you going?" she asked.
