A Game Of Chess With A Vampire
Chapter 170: They Are All Mine

Chapter 170: They Are All Mine

Ryan rubbed his temple, stressed out.

"I’d like to be alone, Natasha. Please take Jonah and leave."

The little boy, Jonah, blinked his eyes. "Father, are you mad at mother?" He could see the frown on Ryan’s face, which was something he had never glimpsed before when he was around his mother.

Ryan took a deep breath. "It is not like that, Jonah. Your mother and I just had a little misunderstanding. We will sort it out later, okay?" He forced himself to smile.

Jonathan was not entirely sure if he was telling the truth, but he decided to believe him. "Mother, let’s go."

Natasha gazed at Ryan. Of course, she didn’t want to leave until she managed to change Ryan’s mind, but from the looks of things, it did not seem possible that morning.

With a deep sigh exiting her mouth, she turned around and left the room with Jonathan.

Draven buttoned up his white shirt. He was about to go somewhere, and Avelina, who was on the sofa with a book in her hand, was staring at him.

"Draven, where are you going?"

Draven glanced at her. "To see Aurora."

"Huh?" Avelina was bewildered. "Au...rora? Lumian’s wife? Or is it a different Aurora?"

"No, it is Lumian’s wife." Draven shook his head.

Avelina furrowed her brows.

"Not to be nosy, but why?"

Draven adjusted the collar of his shirt and walked up to her. He squatted down in front of her and proceeded to explain to her.

"I want to thank her."

"For what?" Avelina asked.

"For saving you," Draven replied.

Avelina still appeared quite confused. "Saving...me?"

Draven responded with a nod.

"Yes. She is the reason I was able to save you. Apparently, she found out what Natasha was up to, so she told me. I guess she does not dislike you. I don’t think she does. She seemed quite worried."

"Oh..." Avelina had surprise written all over her face. She had thought that every single one of them disliked her, and why? Just because she is human. Although she cannot judge them, she does not like them either, just because they are vampires.

She stood up from the sofa. "Let me go with you. I’d like to say thank you to her myself."

"Is that so?" Draven stood up, towering over her with his height. He strolled over, grabbed her shoes, and squatted down to help her into it.

"Put your feet," he said to her.

Avelin held onto his shoulders for balance and slipped her feet into the shoes. Draven straightened up and grabbed her hand to leave.

"Draven, wait!"

"Why?" Draven glanced over at her.

Avelina snatched her hand and hurried to the table. "You forgot this." She wiggled his glasses at him.

Draven touched the bridge of his nose, realizing he was not wearing one. He had gotten too used to not wearing the glasses, as he does not wear them around Avelina. She was more than comfortable with his eyes, and that has caused him to start forgetting to wear them as much as he used to before.

Avelina stood in front of him. She went on her tippy toes in order to reach his face and put the glasses on for him.

Draven appeared quite amused by the struggling expression on her face. He slightly leaned in for her to make things easier.

Avelina put the glasses on and lowered her head to smile at herself.

"You’re...really tall."

"I know." Draven nodded while cackling softly. He grabbed her hand and exited the room.

They proceeded to the pavilion, and there, Aurora, who had been let in by Santino, stood waiting.

Draven approached her along with Avelina, and they stood face-to-face with each other.

Aurora, with a soft smile on her face, slightly bowed to him. "It’s good to see you again, brother-in-law."

Draven had no expression on his face, but this time around he was relaxed, not seeming upset or anything.

"Merci," Draven appreciated.

Aurora smiled at him. "De rien."

She glanced over at Avelina.

Avelina slightly bowed to her in appreciation.

"Thank you." Her smile was charming.

"You’re welcome. I’m glad that you are alright," Aurora responded and extended her hand, patting her head.

Avelina blinked her eyes, flabbergasted and confused.

Why did she pat her head? Except for Draven, no one else has ever done that to her.

"I shall take my leave now. Stay safe," Aurora said, walking past them to return to her quarter.

Avelina turned to stare at her disappearing back. She slowly touched her head, seeming surprised and confused.

"Avelina," Draven shifted his attention to her.

Avelina looked at him.

"Do you want to go to one of my villas with me?" Draven asked.

Avelina’s eyes immediately lit up as though a child who had received lots of candies. Does that mean she gets to leave this royal mansion for a little while?

Without hesitation, she nodded her head.

Draven chuckled softly and interlocked his hands with hers. They left the pavilion to approach one of his cars.

Instead of his most driven car, the Rolls Royce, he decided to go with his Bentley.

Avelina flickered her lashes, suddenly wondering how many cars this man possessed. She glanced at him.

"Draven, how many cars do you own?"

Draven unlocked the doors and looked over at her. "They are all mine."

"Huh?" Avelina raised her brows. In the current parking lot of the Royal Ground where they were, there were approximately six cars. Three were parked to the left, and three others were parked to the right, each with a different brand. Does he mean he owns all six of them?

"Draven, you own all of—"

"Yes, I do," Draven responded. "This parking lot belongs to me. It’s in my quarter, Avelina." He chuckled.

"Come." He wiggled his finger at her.

Avelina hurried up to him. As she sat down in the car, he buckled her seat belt for her and moved over to the driver’s seat.
