Chapter 169: Leave With Him, Please

Chapter 169: Leave With Him, Please

Ryan lowered his head, suddenly feeling his eyes getting wet.

"Natasha, even just caring is enough. A person who cares about you is willing to do so much for you and your well-being. How much more of a person who loves you? That is the difference between you and me."

"You do not love me, nor do you care. But on my end, I give you both. My love and my care. There is nothing that I have not done for you. What more do you want me to do? I asked you to wait and let me handle it because I knew you would make a mistake. I was afraid for you, and I just wanted you to be safe, just like I always have."

"Loved me or not, I did not care. You’re still my wife, and just because you may not feel the same way does not mean I will overlook you. You—"

"No, Ryan, that is not true!" Natasha interrupted. "I messed up, I know that, I hurt you, I know that, but I really do lo—"

"Allow me to finish my words, Natasha." Ryan’s expression was cold.

"You asked why I did not want you to hurt that human. It is because she has done nothing wrong to you, Natasha. She is someone’s wife, and even if I hate the person she is married to, it is completely wrong of you to take someone’s wife away from them. Listen, it would have been a different case if she did something wrong to you, but she didn’t!"

"You just hate her, and that is why you did this. You know very much within you that she has done nothing wrong to you!"

"What about you, then?" Natasha questioned.

Ryan loured at her. "What do you mean?"

"I hate her just like you hate Draven. Why is your hate justified and mine isn’t?" Natasha asked.

"Natasha—"

"Ryan, are you able to write down any single thing Draven may have done wrong to you if I give you a piece of paper and a pen?" Natasha continued, cutting him off amid his words.

Ryan blinked his eyes, stunned.

"See..." Natasha laughed. "You are criticizing me while you are the same. You are being a hypocrite. How can you be committing the same act but fail to see your problem while pointing out someone else’s problem?"

"Yes, I hate her, and I want nothing more than for her to die, that I admit, Ryan. But what about you? Draven has never done anything wrong to you, none at all and yet you all hate him and keep coming up with different sets of plans to murder him."

"What exactly makes all of you any different from me? It is only a crime when it comes to me, but when it’s you or your other brothers, your hate is justified, right?"

"Natasha, you know nothing!!!" Ryan shouted at her. "You do not know what happened in our childhood, so you have no fucking right to speak!"

"Yes, I do! I am your wife, and I know! Don’t lie to yourself, Ryan! Draven has never wronged you! You. Are. Not. Your. Father!" Natasha emphasized her last sentence.

"I fucked up and caused you pain, yes, I know that. I am apologizing and seeking your forgiveness, but you truly have no right to judge me, Ryan, because you’re just the same shitty person that I am."

Ryan shook his head at her. "No, you are wrong, Natasha. I’m not selfish like you! I think about others before I take action. It is unlike you."

"Do you even know how I feel?" he questioned. "I feel humiliated, Natasha! Even after what you did, I am still trying to cover up for you. I am taking the pain for you all because I don’t want you to get hurt. It is something that I cannot bear to see! Do you understand the difference between us now? That is how much I love you, regardless of the fact that you do not feel the same."

"They call me dumb because I overlook the things you do, but truly, I am not. I just prefer to seem that way, because, at the very least, you are safe. That is how selfless I am when it comes to you. But you can never do the same for me."

He shook his head at her. "It is okay, though. You do not have to force yourself to love me or feel in a way that you do not want to feel. However, one thing I will appreciate from you is if you can stop getting into trouble. Don’t cause me any more pain than you already have."

He turned around to walk to his chair and sit down, but Natasha grabbed him and hugged him from behind.

"I’m sorry, Ryan. I am really sorry. Please, just give me one more chance. I’ll make it up to you. I know you may not believe me, but I do love you. I mean it. I’m not lying to you. I could never lie to you about my feelings."

Ryan shut his eyes, taking a deep breath. "Natasha, please stop. You don’t—"

"Father!" The door of the room swung open, and his son Jonathan rushed in. He hurried towards him, hugging his leg.

Natasha lowered her head and looked at him. "Jonah, why are you here? You should be sleeping."

"Mother." The little boy Jonathan raised his head and looked at Natasha. "I just wanted to see father. The maids said grandfather hurt him."

A soft breath fled Ryan’s nose, and he squatted down to the boy’s height.

"Jonah, your father is alright. Your grandfather harmed your father because he committed an error. So do not worry, I’ll be just fine by tomorrow," he explained.

Jonathan looked at him. "Is that really true, father?"

"Yes." Ryan nodded.

"Mother." The boy glanced at Natasha.

Natasha smiled at him. "Your father is right, Jonah." She pulled him into a gentle hug and stroked his hair.

Ryan got up to his feet and walked over to the chair to sit down.

"Leave with him, please."

"What?" Natasha looked at him.
