Chapter 161: Why Am I Feeling This Way?
Avelina bit her lower lip.
"Oh...’"
This was even worse. She cannot imagine another woman having his scent. Why let another woman when she can have it?
Avelina! What did you just think?! She quickly slapped her cheeks and shook her head to snap back to reality.
She looked at Draven, saying, "I still don’t mind, as long as it will stop the irritation, I am okay with it."
Draven stared at her in silence.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
Avelina nodded at him with a smile visible on her face. She could immediately feel a shift in the atmosphere. She looked into Draven’s eyes, only to notice that his pupils had darkened.
The redness of his eyes had deepened, making it way more intimidating than it already was.
Draven wrapped his long fingers around her neck and tilted her head. He was a bit reluctant, but realizing that Avelina was not attempting to move away or anything of the sort, he carefully and slowly pierced her skin, sinking his fangs in.
Avelina hissed a bit, hurt by it. Draven halted, worried, but seeing that she did not complain, he continued.
The blood sipping from the holes he had made in Avelina’s neck trickled down her shoulder onto her white dress, tainting it.
Draven’s eyes narrowed, and he immediately licked off the line of blood from her neck. Caught off guard by this, Avelina shivered and tightened her balled fist.
She could not explain it, but there was some sort of sensation she felt from him biting her. Something she had never felt before. She...liked it.
Draven pulled back.
He licked his fangs and looked at Avelina with soft eyes. "Are you alright?"
Avelain nodded at him. "I am." She had a smile apparent on her face.
Draven gently stroked her cheek and pulled on it like he usually would. "You’ve lost a bit of weight."
"Have I?" Avelina glanced at herself with a look of concern.
Draven nodded. "Yes. I’ll have to feed you more." He patted her head and lifted her off the sink countertop.
He walked back to the bedroom and sat her down on the bed.
"The maids will come for you in a few minutes, so wait here for them, okay?" he said to her.
"What about you?" Avelina inquired. "Where are you going?"
Draven replied, "To the hot spring. Do you want to come with me?"
Avelina batted her lashes. She could not help but recall the last time that she had a bath in the hot spring with him.
Gradually, she felt her ears heat up, and without responding, she buried her face in her palms.
Draven was confused.
"Avelina, are you alright?"
Avelina nodded her head before saying, "Draven, y-you should go alone. I will wait for the maids."
"Oh..." Draven seemed a bit disappointed, but he could not say anything either, so he simply warmly tapped her head and left the room.
The second the door was closed, Avelina inhaled and exhaled before raising her head.
"I think I am going crazy! What is wrong with me?’ The urge to sob overwhelmed her.
These weird new feelings were something she had never experienced or felt before. She cannot stop herself from thinking about this man all the time, and it has even gotten worse recently. She thinks of him even when he is with her, and with every little thing, she cannot stop herself from blushing.
"Why? Why am I feeling this way?" She clutched her chest, deep in thought.
At the sound of the sudden creak of the door, Avelina turned her head. Camilla and Thalia entered.
"Good morning, my lady," they greeted in unison with a polite smile on their faces.
Avelina half-smiled. "Good morning."
"Would you like to have your bath now?" Camilla asked.
Avelina gave a nod. She stood up to her feet to walk, but she sat back down, realizing that her legs still felt like jelly.
Camilla and Thalia, catching an instant notice of her situation, hurried over to her. They grabbed her arms and helped her to the bathroom.
They sat her down in the bathtub, and as soon as the warm water caressed her body, a deep breath of relief fled her nose.
"This feels good," she whispered to herself.
Thalia, who heard her, smiled as she poured water all over her head. Avelina parted the wet strands of hair that latched onto her face. She glanced at Camilla, who had grabbed her hand to wash it.
Those troubling thoughts made her wish to ask someone about them, but she had no idea who to ask. Should she inquire from Camilla and Thalia? They might have an idea.
A bit nervous, she cleared her throat. "Um, can I ask you guys something?"
Camilla and Thalia glanced at her.
"Sure, my lady. Go ahead," Thalia responded while Camilla nodded.
Avelina took deep breaths and wrapped her arms around her curved legs.
"Um, so, I’ve been feeling somehow lately, and I am not sure why."
Camilla lifted her brows, suddenly filled with curiosity. "How, my lady?"
"Well, there is this someone." Avelina bit her upper lip. She was not sure if she should continue. "... I have been thinking about him lately, and everything he does, no matter how little, makes my heart beat fast. Um...a-a-and..."
She went quiet the second she glanced over at Camilla and Thalia, who had stopped what they were doing to stare at her.
She was confused. What was going on? Why were they staring so intently at her?
No longer willing to talk about it or say any more words, she averted her gaze and lowered her head. "N-never mind."
"What?" Camilla, as if having snapped back to her senses, shook her head. "No, no, my lady. It is not what you think. I apologize."
Avelina smiled awkwardly at them. "N-no, it’s okay. I don’t mind."
Thalia scrunched her face in guilt, suddenly feeling terrible.
"We are sorry, my lady," she apologized. "It is not what you think."
