Chapter 151: I Like Your Dimples

Chapter 151: I Like Your Dimples

They walked for a short while before Natasha finally came to a stop. In front of them stood a tall fence. It was the fence that Draven had built, separating the general pavilion ground from his garden and the pavilion.

"This is the closest we can get to his quarter without having to go through the foyer." Natasha glanced over at Laila. "Dig," she ordered.

Without hesitation, Laila grabbed the shovel and held it tightly to its hilt. She began to dig nonstop, even though she was sweating like crazy under the layers of clothing she wore in order to avoid the sun.

"That’s enough." Natasha stopped her. She brought out the talisman, and with the use of her own hand, she buried it in the ground and poured the sand over it, covering it.

She matched it continuously until the sand blended in perfectly with the rest.

"That’s better."

Laila fidgeted with her hands. She still looked somewhat afraid.

Natasha glanced at her with a raised brow. "What are you scared of?"

"Ye!" Laila was startled. She quickly shook her head. "N-nothing, my lady."

Natasha’s eyes were filled with disdain as she looked at her from head to toe and up again.

"If anyone finds out about this, I believe you are already aware of what will happen. So be a good girl, zip your lips up, and stay back in the shadows," she warned.

Laila frantically nodded her head.

"Y-yes, my lady. I would never dare!"

"Good!" Natasha smirked. "You’re dismissed." She waved her hand at her and began to walk back to her quarter.

Now all she has to do is sit and watch. Tomorrow morning will be heavenly once Avelina’s death is announced.

Her smile couldn’t stop growing wider and wider. This was to show how blissful she felt within her.

.....

Outside the royal grounds, Aurora stood. She was frowning.

"My lady, what did she do?" her closest maid, Ryiryi, asked.

Aurora’s ugly expression deepened. She had seen Natasha burying something in the ground, but she could not tell what it was.

Also, it was even more suspicious with the fact that Natasha was being sneaky with it. What was she up to again? Why was she even awake?

I mean, she can ask so for herself, but that is because she was having a hard time falling asleep. She just came out of the mansion to look around. Who knew she would run into Natasha?

"Hmm..." Aurora narrowed her eyes into a thin line. The thing bothering her a bit is that whatever Natasha buried, she did it right at the fence that Draven built.

She pondered for a few moments and proceeded to talk, however, as though having smelt something revolting, the urge to puke overwhelmed her. She felt nauseated, which prompted her to immediately cover her mouth.

Ryiryi quickly grabbed a hold of her, supporting her.

"My lady, are you okay?" she inquired.

Aurora shook her head. "I do not know. I have been feeling this way for a while now. Let’s return."

Ryiryi nodded and helped her as they left to enter the mansion.

——

Avelina was awake, seated on the bed.

She had been awake for two hours now, yet she had not seen a sign of Draven. Was he not coming back?

She stared at the screen of her phone, wondering if she should call him. But she kept dismissing the idea, for fear that he could possibly be busy. What if calling would do nothing but disturb him?

The urge to scream overwhelmed her, and she buried her face in the pillow. She loudly screamed into it and took deep breaths afterward.

"Get it together, Avelina, please! Stop behaving this way!" she said to herself, feeling as though she could go crazy.

The door to the room suddenly opened.

Avelina, who was too caught up in her thoughts and speaking to herself, did not notice Draven walk in and shut the door.

He looked over at the bed, appearing a bit perplexed as to why she had her face buried in the pillow. Was she okay?

Quite concerned, Draven walked over to the bed. He bent down slightly and extended his hand to ruffle her hair.

"Avelina."

As though snapping back to reality, Avelina went still. She slowly raised her head a bit and peeked at Draven.

"When did you come back?"

Draven could not help but smile in bewilderment. Why was she peeking at him?

"Avelina, are you okay?"

Avelina sighed and straightened up. "Mhm, hm." She nodded her head.

Draven sat down on the bed beside her and tucked the few strands of her hair behind her ear. He rumpled her tousled hair to balance it and began to stare at her with a soft smile visible on his face.

Avelina squinted her lashes, not able to look him in the eyes. "W-what?"

"Nothing." Draven shook his head. "How do you feel?" He was still beaming at her.

"I think I feel okay. I don’t feel too tired anymore," Avelina replied. Then she looked at him with soft eyes. "I like your dimples."

"Huh?" Draven was a bit taken aback. "This?" He pointed at his cheeks.

Avelina nodded.

"Why?" Draven asked.

Avelina pondered and said, "Well, it looks so good. You know the way it dips in when you smile, it makes you...very handsome. I just love it." She did not realize she had begun to smile so much to the point her eyes were narrowed.

Draven was stunned. He gazed at her for a few seconds before cackling.

"My mother had it too. I got it from her," he said.

"Oh, then she must be very pretty." Avelina chuckled.

Draven nodded. "She was."

He let out a soft breath and grabbed something from his pocket. "I got you something, but I am not sure if you will like it. I do not know, since I am not very good at these—"

"What? What did you get?" Avelina quickly moved closer to him and sat on her knees. She stared at him with deep anticipation flickering in her eyes.
