Chapter 122: Where Is Your Wife?

Chapter 122: Where Is Your Wife?

Valentine rolled his eyes. He couldn’t care less, as he knew that whether he went or not, nothing would change.

"Does it matter?" he asked.

Adam raised his head and glanced at him. "I don’t know. I am just worried, young master. It does not seem like a good idea to me if you have breakfast with them, at least not after what happened last night."

"It’s fine. This isn’t the first time, you know that." Valentine exhaled deeply.

Adam stood up to his feet. He grabbed Valentine’s shirt and began to button it up. He adjusted the collars and helped him into his vest.

Done with all that, Valentine looked at himself in the mirror.

"Do you want me to tie your hair for you, young master?" Adam inquired.

Valentine thought for a few seconds and shook his head. "No."

He intended to cover his face with his hair, considering his eyes were still swollen from all the crying he did.

With his hands, he ruffled his hair to balance them, then turned around to exit the room. Adam followed behind him, and they began to proceed towards the general royal pavilion.

Upon arrival, Valentine walked up a few steps. He strolled over and sat down beside Lestat, ignoring all eyes that were on him, including the ones that belonged to Old Master Lenort.

"For a moment, I thought you weren’t going to come, little brother." Ryan taunted with a smirk on his face.

Valentine’s eyes narrowed vehemently, and his grip on the fork he held, tightened. None could explain the amount of urge he was restraining from stabbing the fork right into Ryan’s eyes.

"Bon appetit," Old Master Lenort said, grabbing his utensils to eat.

Draven, who was silent, not uttering a word, peeked at Valentine. He was not sure if he was alright. I mean, he did hear him raging last night.

"Where is your wife?" Old Master Lenort suddenly asked.

Draven shifted his attention to Old Master Lenort.

"Sick."

At the sound of that one word, Natasha widened her eyes before composing herself. She furrowed her brows and slightly bent her head.

Could it be that Ceicei was already starting to work on her request? If so, then it is really good. I mean, Avelina was fine just yesterday, how could she have possibly fallen sick all of a sudden?

She inwardly smirked, her eyes sparkling with pleasure.

"Sick?" Old Master Lenort appeared quite surprised.

Draven did not respond.

"Tsk, humans are such trouble," Ryan mumbled, seeming annoyed.

Draven looked at him. His gaze was threatening, which Ryan did not fail to notice. He frowned but did not say anything about it.

They all began to have their breakfast in utter silence. Aurora was glancing at Valentine every now and then. Her ability was empath, therefore leaving her able to sense the emotions of others.

Valentine tried to use his spoon, but it appeared quite hard as he could not seem to properly grab the spoon due to his broken bones. His right hand was the most suitable for him. Unlike Draven, he was not a lefty.

Adam, who was standing beside him, could tell that he was struggling.

"Shall I feed you, young master?" he asked.

At the sound of those words, Lestat could not help but spat out his drink. He glanced at everyone and shook his head with a look of amusement on his face.

"My apologies." He looked at Valentine. "What happened to your hand, little brother? Did you punch a hole in the wall and break your fingers?"

Nearly everyone chuckled at his words. Valentine took a deep breath, unwilling to get offended. He looked at Adam and smiled at him.

"It’s fine. I can do it by myself."

"Hmm, are you sure?" Lestat asked. "I do not think you can. Your hand is literally in banda—"

His words were shoved down his throat the second Valentine gripped him by the collar of his coat with his fist just an inch away from his face.

"Just fucking shut up, Lestat! It is none of your damn business!" He glared at him with his teeth gritted in rage.

Lestat blinked his eyes. "Ha! Ha! I have never seen you this angry before." He was amused. "Did I really infuriate you that much? Common now, you can’t punch your older brother, can you?"

Valentine was tightening his balled fist. He took a deep breath to calm himself down. Without uttering a word, he walked out from behind the table and began to storm away.

Adam rushed after him.

Draven, on the other hand, who could not stand their stupidity, dropped his utensil and stood up from his seat. He grabbed his cup of coffee and started to walk away.

Old Master Lenort diverted his stare at Lestat.

"Are you stupid?" he questioned.

Lestat fluttered his eyes. "Father..."

"Haven’t I warned you that I do not like disturbances while I am eating?" Old Master Lenort shouted, infuriated. "Get out!" he commanded.

This was not what Lestat had expected, but he could not say a word. He hesitantly stood up from his seat and left the pavilion. His wife, Liliana, who had no other choice, stood up and followed him.

Ryan shook his head, a bit disappointed. He expected more from the breakfast, but it all ended in just a matter of a few minutes. Lumian, on the other hand, did not talk. He simply ate his food.

....

"Young master, where are you going?" Adam asked Valentine, who was slipping his arms into his coat.

Valentine did not reply. He walked out of the room and began to exit the royal mansion.

Adam was heavily worried. Why was he so silent? He could at least tell him where he was going.

"Young master, it’s rai—"

"Do not follow me, Adam!" Valentine halted and glanced at him. "I don’t know when I will be back, so please do not stay waiting for me. Take this chance to go and see your mother. I know that you have always wanted to do so."

He turned around and left the mansion. Adam could only stand and watch his figure fade. It was slightly raining, and he was very aware that it wouldn’t take a while for the rain to get heavier.

A deep breath fled his nose, and he buried his face in his palms.

"Where has he gone off to?" A voice abruptly sounded behind him.
