Chapter 118: Does It Feel Better?

Adam could swear that he felt his soul flee his body at that instant.

Valentine’s eyes were pitch black, as though he were no longer himself. No, his young master was rarely mad, and even when he was, it only lasted for a few minutes.

"Y-young master, what is going on?"

Valentine’s body trembled, and he stood up to his feet. He staggered towards Adam and harshly gripped his hair from behind, pulling it.

"OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I feel like I am losing myself! I feel insane, and I feel like I could kill myself!"

Adam’s face was scrunched in deep pain. "Y-young master, please let go. It hurts!"

"I should let go? Does it hurt that bad? HahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHA!!" Valentine laughed uncontrollably, as though he had gone mad. He let go of Adam’s hair and pushed him so hard that Adam found himself crashing into the wall.

Adam groaned in pain. He opened his eyes to get up, but he jolted at the sight of Valentine, who had appeared before him in the blink of an eye.

"Y-young master—"

"SHUT UP!!" Valentine grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "Do you know what I want to do to you right now?"

He grinned maniacally. "I want to hurt you so badly and cut you into pieces. I want to make you bleed and watch you burn, you bastard! I want to wound you, gouge your eyes out and I want to break your bones and bury you alive. Oh, I wish to feed your flesh to the wolves!" He was breathing heavily.

"Painful! I want to do something much more painful. I want you to feel the pain you have put me through all those years, and after that, I will not feel even an ounce of guilt. I want you to suffer and die a slow, miserable death. I need you, I need to feel all that pain, oh mon dieu!" Hot tears were slowly beginning to drip from his eyes, dropping onto Adam’s face.

Adam was silent all the while. His dilated pupils were gazing into Valentine’s tears-filled emerald orbs.

His young master...was crying. This was something he had never glimpsed before.

Not just that, but he had only just realized that his young master was not seeing him, but rather that he was seeing his father. He was so infuriated that he thought he was his father, and that was why he became violent, and resulted in hurting him.

A soft smile spread across Adam’s face, and he reached forth with his hands, grabbing Valentine and pulling him into his arms.

"It’s okay, your highness. It’s really okay. It’s nice that you are letting out the anger you feel and am sure you will be much better in the morning." He wrapped his arms around Valentine, tightly hugging him.

Valentine was helpless. His eyes were flickering, and it was only then did he realize that the person he had hurt was Adam and not his father.

"A-adam, I hurt you," he stuttered and proceeded to yank away from him for fear that he would hurt him any further, but Adam held him.

"It’s okay. Hurt me if you must. Do whatever will make you calm down. I don’t mind." Adam was beaming all the while.

Valentine fluttered his wet lashes. "Adam...why are you...why are you here?"

Adam pulled back from the embrace to look at him.

"I was not going to leave my friend in such a situation knowing that he is hurt. You may be my young master, but...you are still my friend that I once knew," Adam said.

Valentine slowly lowered his head, leaving his untied hair to fall over and cover his face.

"Leave," he ordered.

"No." Adam shook his head, unwilling. "I cannot leave you in this state. I am your butler for a reason."

Valentine tightened his fist and stood up to his feet in one swift movement. He turned his back on Adam. "You are very stupid, Adam."

Adam smiled at him. "I know."

"Your knuckles are crushed, right?" he asked.

Valentine lifted his hand to look at it. It was covered in blood, but he could glimpse his crushed bones.

How hard had he hit his knuckles in that state to hurt himself in such a way? He tried to feel his hand, but due to the pain, he resisted, unable to.

Adam sighed. He stood up and walked over to Valentine. "Shall I treat it?"

Valentine glanced at him. He used his left hand to remove the hair that fell over his face. "Tie it up for me. I can’t see."

"Okay." Adam stepped behind him. He grabbed a handful of his hair and wrapped it up into a bun.

Then he went to the cabinet to grab the aid box. "Please have a seat."

Valentine moved over to the bed to sit down. Adam squatted down in front of him. He took the bandage, cleaned his wound, treated it, and wrapped it around it till it reached his elbow.

"Does it feel better?" he inquired, concerned.

Valentine nodded and climbed into the bed to lie down. He completely covered himself with the duvet, as though not wanting to be seen.

Adam stared at him and let out a soft breath.

"I will get the maids to clean the room, young master. If you need me, just call, I will be right here at the door," he said.

But Valentine did not respond. So he turned around and left the room.

Olive stared at the screen of his phone.

He was confused and unable to comprehend what had just happened. What was that all about over the phone? Did something happen to Valentine? Not only that, but he had been trying to call back for a long while now, but he was not answering.

"Monsieur, why are you on your phone?" a half-naked young lady asked seductively as she grabbed the phone from Olive, dropping it on the table. She was displeased by his distraction. "We are not done having fun yet, are we?"

Olive was worried, but he could not seem to concentrate. Not only was his head on a roller coaster, but he was drunk as well.

He smirked at the young lady, gripped her hair, and pulled her in. He smacked his lips against hers, kissing her roughly.

The young lady grinned against his lips. "You’re rough. I like it," she commented.

Olive cackled and pushed her down against the empty table. The young lady wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him in and tightening her legs around his waist.

Her screams of pleasure could be heard all the way from the room next to it.
