Chapter 105: This Will Be Fun, Don’t You Think?

The waitress shifted her attention to Draven.

"Two pain au chocolat and a un café for you, Monsieur."

"Merci," Draven appreciated.

He glimpsed Avelina, who was munching on her croissant with a sparkling face and pulled out a pocket-sized journal and a pen from his coat. He dropped it on the table and held the pen in his left hand before beginning to write on it.

Avelina noticed. She wrinkled her brows, wondering what he was doing. She adjusted a bit closer to him and peeked at the book.

"Draven, what are you doing?" she inquired.

Without looking at her, Draven replied, "Jotting something down."

"What is it?" Avelina pressed further.

"Hmm, this is just a book I use to jot down some of the things concerning you," Draven said. He was still focused on what he was doing.

"Huh?" Avelina was taken aback. "What do you mean by that?"

Draven finally glanced at her.

"Some of the things about you bewilder me, so in order to understand you better, I write these down," he explained. "For example, food really makes you happy. Therefore, the next time you may be sad, I will feed you and take you out to eat to brighten up your mood."

"Another one is that it’s very normal for you to talk in your sleep, so I do not have to worry about that any longer. I used to wonder if you were having a nightmare or so, which left me quite concerned. But I realized that everything is okay, and it’s simply you." He offered a barely perceptible smile.

Avelina was stunned. She could only blink her eyes, as she had no idea what to say. Her lips were a bit agape, and it looked as though she wanted to utter something, but it just was not exiting her throat.

Draven became worried. "Avelina, are you okay?"

Avelina subconsciously nodded at him.

"Y-yeah. It’s just..." She let out a short chuckle, unable to talk.

Draven was not convinced. "Does this make you mad?"

Avelina quickly looked at him and frantically shook her head. "Of course not."

She fidgeted with her hands and lowered her head to avoid his gaze. "I am just surprised, that’s all." Once again, she could feel her face heating up. To think that anyone in this world would take the time to make a note about her in order to have a better understanding of her.

For the first time, she sensed what one would call butterflies flutter in her belly. Her heart pounded rapidly and she could affirm that she felt as though she could collapse at that moment due to the overwhelming unfamiliar feeling she was experiencing.

Draven, on the other hand, was still looking a bit apprehensive.

"I made the note because I have never met somebody like you before. With you, every day feels very interesting. It makes being with you...very nice."

This astonished Avelina, causing her to quickly raise her head. "D-does it?"

"Mhm, it does." Draven nodded. He reached forth with his hand and gently patted her head.

"You’re adorable," he said.

Avelina batted her lashes. She smiled internally and grabbed the last croissant to eat.

"Are you left-handed, Draven?" She abruptly queried. All the things he does, he usually does with his right hand. This was the first time she saw him use his left hand more.

Draven nodded, confirming, "Yes, I am left-handed when it comes to writing. I can use both hands to write actually, but I write better and faster with my left hand."

"Ah, I see." Avelina nodded and swallowed the scrunched-up snack in her mouth.

Draven slipped the note into his pocket. He proceeded to grab his cup of coffee, but the sudden ringing of his phone had him cease. He gripped his phone and answered. The callee was Santino.

[Young master, The old master requests your presence at the royal mansion. There is someone here]

"Hmm? Who?" Draven asked.

[Mr. Bennet Pons. I don’t know, but something feels off]

"I see. Alright." Draven hung up and stood up from the chair.

He extended his hand out to Avelina. "Let’s go."

Avelina raised her head to look at him and stood up to her feet. She grabbed his hand, and they began to exit the cafe. On the table, he had already left a check for the waitress.

"Draven, is something wrong? Why are we leaving already?" Avelina queried.

Draven opened the door of the car for her. As he buckled her seat belt, he explained, "Mr. Bennet is at the mansion."

"Does that mean we are at the fourth stage of the plan?" Avelina probed further.

"Yes," Draven replied and shut the door. He walked over, took his seat, and started the engine.

He took a reverse, drove off onto the road, and sped off for the royal mansion.

Along the way, he called Loui.

[Don]

"Loui, Bennet is at the mansion. Now do exactly as I told you before. I have already rented out a place for you. Make yourself known so that when they come looking for you with your photo, people will be able to say that they have seen this man before."

"However, the problem will be that once you return to your actual self, that impersonation will no longer exist. It would be as though you disappeared in the blink of an eye, never to be seen again," Draven briefly elucidated.

[Understood]

Draven hung up the call and dropped the phone in his pocket. Avelina, who sat with her gaze fixed on him, opened the lollipop he gave her earlier and began to lick it.

"This will be fun, don’t you think?" Draven suddenly asked.

Avelina nodded, concurring. "Definitely."

Draven smiled and raised the speed of the car a bit.

Arriving at the royal mansion, he drove in to park the car. Avelina got down this time around before he could lend a hand, and they hurried their way into the mansion.

His father and the rest were gathered in the meeting room, so he pulled Avelina along with him toward the vast room. The royal guard opened the double door.

Draven tightly held onto Avelina’s hand and stepped in with her. As the door shut behind them, all eyes shifted to them, including the blue ones that belonged to none other than Mr. Bennet, who sat beside Old Master Lenort.

"Have your seat," Old Master Lenort said.
